Bickel was phenomenal as a senior, posting 37 goals and 37 assists for the Friars against what was one of the more challenging high school schedules I can ever recall. He answered the bell after an up-and-down junior year during which he struggled with consistency and shooting, though last summer provided a sign of good things to come. Bickel was exclusively a midfielder at Malvern, however, he has plenty of experience playing attack in club ball and is incredibly dynamic with the ball in his stick. He puts pressure on defenses wherever he’s attacking from, and does so both as a scorer and a feeder, often tossing superb skip passes to his teammates when he’s not banging shots on the run. Beyond that, he doesn’t necessarily need the ball to be successful and is great playing off of his teammates and finding seams. Expect Bickel to get time early and often upon his arrival on the Hilltop.

Continuing an outstanding senior season, Bickel was far and away the best player on the field, finishing with four goals and two assists. More notable than the stat line itself is that three of those points came in the final four minutes of regulation and the overtime period, when Bickel got matched up with a shortstick, made a hard jab step to free up his hands, and canned the game-winning goal.

His go-ahead assist was arguably the most impressive pass I’ve seen all year. Drawing Haverford’s defense to the right side of the field while under duress, Bickel skipped it all the way to the left hash, where Danny Riely Danny Riely 5'11" | M/SSDM Malvern Prep | 2026 #85 Nation PA caught it and fired it home, the second time they’d linked up in a two-minute span. In the first half, Bickel cleanly beat his man, finishing in front in the first quarter after beating a pole and then burying his patented jumper in the second stanza. He’s exactly the type of midfield party-starter that the Hoyas’ offense desperately needs.
