Barbee’s speed, athleticism, and two-way midfielder skill set were on full display during Hill’s win over SJC. In the 2nd quarter, Barbee picked up a GB in the defensive end and pushed the ball over midfield. When the field opened up in front of him, Barbee quickly recognized that space, kicked it into high gear, and streaked to the net for an overhand finish on the crease. That spectacular play was just one of several solo clears that Barbee performed for Hill in this win. Defensively, Barbee was a tenacious on-ball presence as he frequently got into SJC players early in the dodges. This Lehigh signee also did a fantastic job of beating SJC ball carriers to a spot and then turning them.

The October addition of this two-way midfielder is a fantastic move by Lehigh. On the defensive end, Barbee’s explosive lateral movements and anticipation skills enable him to repeatedly beat the ball carrier to a spot. Barbee has shown the patience to turn an offensive player multiple times before looking to create a turnover. Eventually, Barbee will use a powerful crowbar or crafty stick check to dislodge the ball. Once Barbee has secured the ground ball, his world-class speed quickly separates him from the pack as he races into the offensive end for a transition opportunity. Barbee is also an effective fast break player when he comes flying out of the box. In 6v6 action, Barbee’s quick burst and serious shake allows him to blow past the initial defender and then score or distribute on the run. His high IQ and field awareness combine to produce timely off ball movements that lead to clean looks in close. Barbee is right-handed but can effectively shoot or pass with both hands. As a shortstick wing on face-offs, Barbee is a ground ball machine.

began his career at C.E. Jordan (NC), where he was a Varsity starter as a freshman. Isaiah tallied 29 goals and 26 assists (55 points) in 2023, earning Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors (DAC-VII). As a sophomore in 2024, he matched that production with 29 goals and 20 assists while repeating as All-Conference before transferring to The Hill School. Since arriving in Pottstown, Barbee has impressed against elite national competition. He stood out in a live scout against IMG Academy and showed his ability to match up hip-to-hip with prolific scorers at Brunswick. Defensively, he keeps his feet moving and throws heavy check combinations, consistently disrupting opposing dodgers. In transition, Isaiah uses his speed to push the pace, clear with confidence, and spark offense. Barbee’s versatility also shows up on the offensive end. He has proven he can initiate, operate as a dangerous dodger from behind the goal, and finish with authority. Isaiah made some noise when he split down the left alley, and ripped a missile past one of the top-ranked goalies in the country from SCHA last season. Barbee’s ability to impact the game on both ends, paired with speed, footwork, and physicality, makes him a true two-way threat. Has the tools to elevate a program at the next level!
