Pagano is an athletic and solidly built close defenseman who committed to St. John’s last week. Combine those assets with his fundamentally sound technique, and you get a defenseman who can beat a ball carrier to spots and turn him multiple times. This 2027 prospect can also lean on ball carriers and stifle their dodges with his physicality. Additionally, Pagano is a poised defender who is extremely comfortable defending against 1v1 isolation action. Pagano is a master at throwing heavy stick checks that cause turnovers. When the ball hits the turf, Pagano will vacuum up the GB and then clear the ball himself or roll into open space and smartly drop the ball off to a teammate. Pagano is an excellent back-line communicator, too.
