With Malvern Prep’s highly acclaimed Class of 2025 now in college, the Friars’ coaching staff will have several lineup question marks to work out during the 2026 preseason. We expect Mattice to be the solution to one or two of those issues. Mattice stands 6-foot-5, glides up and down the field, and owns polished stick skills. That list of assets presents serious matchup issues for opponents. Mattice is too fast and elusive for the majority of opposing poles to defend. On the other hand, Mattice’s size, physicality, and downhill style overpower most SSDMs. Mattice’s height allows him to see over entire defenses. That asset, combined with his unselfish nature and timely passing, produces a slew of creative assists. Mattice’s height and lengthy wingspan enable him to shoot over and around initial defenders. In transition, Mattice’s long strides allow him race past opposing players in order to create fast break opportunities. When Mattice unleashes a missile on the run, the power of his shot is jaw-dropping.
