Expert Analysis
Carey Smith | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Last night, Smith once again demonstrated that he possesses a quick first step, slick change-of-direction moves, and elite shooting skills. Smith recorded a hat trick against St. Anthony’s that included two fantastic snipes. One of those goals was a remarkable sidearm rip from the wing that he buried top corner. Parker’s swift load and release on that goal grabbed everyone’s attention. The Villanova coaching staff will love the field vision and timing Parker displayed on a host of nice passes he delivered. Parker’s non-stop motor made him difficult to defend off-ball.

received All-League (Inter-Academic) recognition in 2025. Parker set the tone early in the season for the Churchmen, registering a hat-trick vs Radnor in a 9-4 victory over the 4x defending PIAA 3A State Champions. He uses a rough and tough style, playing hard with a team-first mentality. Smith is a returning leader who Episcopal Academy is counting on to have a chance of competing for another league title. He is a local veteran who can get the defense rotating by dodging with either hand and his head up. Parker has a presence as a two-way midfielder and he loves to shoot the ball. He is a determined goal scorer who can come out of his split or hitch moves loaded and ready to fire. Smith is a signature step-down shooter who can pass on the perimeter for an assist and handle the ball inside for quick stick finishing ability. Verbally committed to Villanova.

Smith is up there as one of the best pound-for-pound players in high school lacrosse, possessing a sturdy 5’7, 175-pound frame and serving as a primary initiator for EA. A midfielder on the club circuit (and at the next level), Smith plays attack for his high school team and puts significant pressure on the opposition with his ability to get defenses rotating and stretch the field with his big-time outside shot. He’s incredibly efficient in the two-man game, dangerous as a shooter both with his feet set and on the run, and capable of finding the open man upon drawing the slide. His effort level and toughness are two of Smith’s best attributes and will serve him well once he eventually matriculates to West Point, a destination that is a phenomenal mutual fit. After posting 25 goals and nine assists as a re-classed sophomore, he’ll step into a larger role in 2025.

Smith is a fast and solidly built attackman with an accurate shot. When he is on the wing, that trifecta of assets enables Smith to sweep over the top of a defense until he finds an opening and then unleashes a missile on the run. College coaches will also love his ability to crank step-downs from all over the perimeter. He is especially effective rolling out of pick action into space and then quickly firing a shot into the net. As a nice bonus to his scoring, Smith owns the lacrosse IQ and field vision to move the ball in a timely fashion to open teammates. Smith is also comfortable running at midfield too. At NHSLS, Smith registered 13 goals and six assists as EA posted a 4-1 record. His five-goal performance against Long Island powerhouse Garden City was especially impressive. After the event, Smith was named to the All-Tournament team.
