Carey Smith | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Even though this was a close game throughout and EA held a two-goal lead late in the second half, it felt like the Churchmen were playing defense for most of the night. Brickman, a Georgetown commit, met that challenge and anchored EA’s defensive unit against St. Anthony’s onslaught. This athletic and versatile pole operated at both close defense and LSM. Brickman used his speed and polished footwork to pursue ball carriers all over the field. He caused turnovers via slaps and lifts as well as by disrupting passing lanes with his active stick. Additionally, Brickman impressed with his ability to snare GBs in traffic. The future Hoya was a plus player in EA’s clearing game, too.

Flipped from Fairfield to Georgetown…
The Hoyas have secured a verbal commitment from this extraordinary athlete who is a 3-sport standout at Episcopal Academy but will PG to join Georgetown’s 2027 class. On the lacrosse field Brickman is a versatile pole with the speed, stick skills and physicality to play LSM or close defense. The trifecta of Brockman’s active stick, polished footwork and quick reflexes make him an on-ball menace. He will not hesitate to press out all the way to the midfield line on a ball carrier. Once he has created a turnover, Brickman will snatch up the ground ball and sprint down field for a transition opportunity. At close defense, Brickman’s high IQ and anticipation skills produce effective slides and double teams. On the back end, Brickman has also displayed a knack for disrupting passing / shooting lanes with his stick. Plus, Brickman owns the agility and discipline to lock off the opposing team’s No. 1 option for an entire game.

This Fairfield commit is an athletic pole who ran at both LSM and close def this summer. Brickman is a 3-sport athlete at Episcopal Academy, so the versatility he displayed on the lacrosse field did not come as a surprise. In an addition to positional versatility, Brickman displayed a high IQ, impressive speed, an active stick, and polished footwork. That list of assets enabled Brickman to serve as a shutdown defender on the perimeter. His ability to run with a ball carrier in open space, turn him multiple times and then create a turnover was remarkable. Brickman (Inter-Ac All League in 2025) was then quick to snatch up the ground ball and sprint down field for a transition opportunity. At close, Brickman showed he could play a physical style of defense and wear out opposing attackmen. He also displayed a knack for disrupting passing / shooting lanes with his stick.
