Jakuc assembled a monster junior season, facing a national schedule and out-dueling several of the top FOGOs in the country. For an encore, Jakuc torched opponents on the 2026 summer circuit and finished with a 68% win rate. Thus, it should not be a surprise that Jakuc recently committed to NESCAC contender Bates College.  Jakuc’s clean pick-n-pops skills combined with his incredible separation speed allow him to secure possession and then explode away from the face-off area. Once he gets downhill, Jakuc can charge through contact and elude sliding defenders until he gets deep into the offensive end. His highly polished stick skills make Jakuc a threat to score or distribute while running full speed. Jakuc has also shown he can muck it up at the dot and win possession by overpowering or outhustling his opponent. The coaching staff at Bates will love how Jakuc keeps his opponents off balance by mixing up his exit strategies.

During the 2026 high school season, Jakuc went mono-y-mono against a number of the best FOGOs in the country and more than held his own. That trend continued this summer as Jakuc dominated opponents with his clean pick-n-pop skills. Those wins combined with Jakuc’s incredible speed enabled him to explode into the offensive end to create scoring chances for Brotherly Love. His ability to absorb significant contact on those runs and maintain possession was remarkable. Once Jakuc got below the restraining line, his refined stick skills made him a threat to fire a shot into the net. The combination of Jakuc’s high IQ and field vision produced a slew of Instagram-worthy assists, too. But Jakuc is not a one trick face-off specialist. This summer, Jakuc also proved he could win at the dot by varying his exit strategies as well as by dropping to the turf and grinding out a win.  

This past fall, Jakuc established himself as one of the top available 2027s in Pennsylvania, and that trend continued in EA’s win over Perkiomen School. Unofficially, Jakuc won 12 of the 17 face-offs (70%) in this contest. The majority of those wins were via clean pick-n-pops that enabled Jakuc to explode into the offensive and create scoring chances for EA. On one of those charges downfield, Jakuc buried a high-to-low shot into the net. Jakuc’s polished stick skills also produced several nice passes while he was on the move. The separation speed Jakuc displayed in this contest was impressive. This crafty FOGO did a fantastic job of varying his exit strategies to keep his opponents off balance

Jakuc was one of the top-performing face-off specialists at the Loyola Playday, going 9-for-14 across two scrimmages, including a dominant 7-for-8 showing against St. Anne’s Belfield. At 6’0” with a sturdy yet athletic frame, Jakuc combines power with balance — tough to move off the ball and agile enough to escape pressure after the win. His strength is his strength: he consistently outmuscles opponents in tie-ups, maintaining body control and leverage through the clamp.

What really stands out, though, is his exits. Jakuc reads wing play exceptionally well, adjusting his exits based on what the wings give him and rarely forcing turnovers off the draw. He’s one of the few uncommitted face-off specialists who have held their own against elite FOGOs throughout the fall circuit. For programs still seeking a reliable, physical presence at the X, Jakuc is a name worth circling.
