Melchionni is an agile, fleet-footed and skilled prospect. This rising sophomore spends the majority of time operating at SSDM, but this summer Melchionni proved he could contribute on offense, too. Melchionni was especially adept at turning defensive stops into transition scoring chances. On defense, Melchionni did a fantastic job of getting into ball carriers early in their dodges and knocking them of their intended paths. Melchionni used his agility and anticipation skills to stay in front of ball carriers for long stretches too. His high IQ and field awareness enabled Melchionni to execute timely double teams and recoveries. Melchionni’s aggressive stick and non-stop motor made him a groundball machine. As a bonus to his multi-faceted skill set, Melchionni received a great deal of big game experience during his freshman year thanks to EA’s national schedule.

Against MP, this athletic, fast, and poised SSDM displayed a multi-faceted skill set. Melchionni got into ball carriers early in their dodges and knocked them of their intended paths. This 2029 also used his smooth lateral movements to stay in front of ball carriers for extended periods. His slides and recoveries were smartly executed too. Melchionni vacuumed up several GBs and then used his speed to push the ball down field for clears or transition opportunities. For a freshman, Melchionni exhibited incredible poise and a high IQ during this intense game between two nationally ranked teams.
