Orcutt’s trifecta of size, speed, and filthy stick skills gave Haverford’s defense issues in this game. On Tuesday, Orcutt scored two goals and had an assist. The first tally was a ridiculous individual effort on which Orcutt dodged from the left wing, fought through two defenders, and as he ran across the middle of the field, Orcutt went BTB into the top far corner. On his second goal, Orcutt got downhill in the right alley and then ripped an eight-yard shot into the net while running full speed. The physical and aggressive dodges Orcutt employed against Haverford will serve him well at UNC.

Orcutt’s two-way skills, along with his size, speed, and polished skills, were a major part of EA’s win. The North Carolina commit tallied three goals and dished out three assists for EA against Perkiomen School. Orcutt’s most impressive goal came as he dodged from up top, swept left across the Perkiomen defense, and then charged down the middle for a lefty rip into the far top corner. His ability to pick up a GB in the defensive and then push the fast break jump-started several possessions for EA. Orcutt also came out of the box to receive a clearing pass and then raced downfield to create odd man breaks for the Churchmen. Additionally, his size and physical style enabled Orcutt to run through significant contact on 6v6 possessions. Those same assets made Orcutt an effective presence at SSDM in this game.

Flipped from Georgetown to North Carolina…
Orcutt is a two-way mid with size, speed, and polished skills. Last season Orcutt tallied 30 goals and was named as a 1st Team All-State, All-Delco and All-Inter-Ac selection. Orcutt thrives in transition where his solid build and football pedigree (standout WR & DB) enable him to run through significant contact as he dashes into the offensive end. His ability to execute a swim dodge or simply change direction at full speed is impressive. When Orcutt is on the run, he can ping corners and fire bounces past the goalie or draw the defender and then move the ball to the open teammate. In settled action Orcutt is an initiator who plays with poise and a high IQ. As a bonus to his offensive sills, Orcutt can hustle back and play SSDM at a high level.

You’d be hard-pressed to find many ’26 middies that separate with such ease as Orcutt does. Also a talented wide receiver on the gridiron, Orcutt is a highly athletic dodger who wasn’t exactly shy about going to the rack and getting shots off at NHSLS. In an evenly contested battle to start the day, he created a number of scoring opportunities for both himself and his teammates. Orcutt’s shot on the run has shown consistent improvement, and he’s a threat with either hand. He’ll need to dial in his shot selection, but given how many looks he creates with his athleticism, I’m sure that’s something that the Georgetown staff will be fine with working on once he arrives on campus.

Yet another lefty worth highlighting, Orcutt has the most blinding speed of the bunch. Even after suffering a knee injury that caused him to miss a handful of games in the middle of his sophomore year (he still racked up 18g/17a in 10 games), Orcutt got from restraining line to restraining line in the blink of an eye and showed no sign of a fall-off when it comes to his stop-and-start ability. He’s smooth with the ball in his stick and is very good at passing out of his initial dodge, but just as impactful when dodging to score when the opportunity presents itself.
