The Princeton commit stands at 6’3″ and is physical in the midfield. A crafty player with a strong box lacrosse background, Ponting showcased his grit and skill today. He fired off a 15-yard rocket of a goal I don’t think anyone could have saved. His size, physicality, and box lacrosse experience make him a perfect fit for the Princeton offense. Ponting will undoubtedly bring a unique, powerful dimension to the game as he continues to develop.

is a bonafide scorer. At first glance, you notice Ponting’s supreme crease work & the ability to finish a shot faster than the goalie can react. Then you notice Ponting towering on the perimeter with the ability to hit shots on the run as well as step in for a good take. Adam uses a blend of athleticism, stick skills, & a wide wingspan to intercept passes during the ride. He is one of many dangerous weapons at Lawrenceville so they have a high percentage when cashing in on a second chance opportunity. Ponting cuts the crease hard suffocating defenses & opening up lanes for others to be successful. A very prolific scorer on a stacked team! Verbally committed to Princeton.

is no different. The Princeton commit is a dominant right-handed midfielder and at 6’3″, he can use his large frame to bully defenders and punish goaltenders. Ranked 35th in the Class of 2026, he has shown to be a relentless dodger and will re-dodge if he likes his matchup and make them pay. He’s a tough assignment for defenders because he has the speed to blow past his defender, the strength to absorb contact, and the stick skills and accuracy to weave through the defense and score. Playing box lacrosse up in Ontario, Canada for St. Catherines has definitely helped him become a great field lacrosse player.

Watching Ponting, it doesn’t take long to realize that he has crazy abilities. Poised for a breakthrough junior year with the Big Red, he made the most of his minutes as a sophomore and newcomer to the program, appearing in 10 games, scoring nine goals and four assists, and shooting 45 percent. At Showtime, the Ontario product made a few of the more eye-popping plays of the week, darting through traffic in front or getting underneath the defense with his box-bred skills and finishing in stellar fashion. Currently playing box for St. Catharines, Ponting is a special talent who is bound to find a home at a top program this fall.

With the least amount of field lacrosse experience among the Canadian trio, Ponting has a massive upside, moving exceptionally well for someone who is every bit of 6’3 or 6’4. According to the Big Red staff, he can dunk a basketball, which speaks volumes about the type of athleticism he possesses. This fall, Ponting showed off his burst of speed and nifty playmaking ability, displaying Mark Matthews-esque face dodges, toe drags from the wing, twisters, and doorstep dunks. He dodged with purpose and was constantly willing to take on double teams, also standing out by gobbling up hard-nosed groundballs in traffic and finishing several big-time finishes off of rebounds. Forgive me if I sound like a broken record, but Ponting’s another prospect who will be hard to keep off the field despite a loaded roster in 2024.
