Nyman to Air Force stands out as one of the biggest steals of the ’28 cycle, considering the reality that he was being recruited heavily by multiple Patriot League schools and getting some Ivy interest. Between Nyman and Knox Ramstein, one of the very best players in the South, Bill Wilson’s Falcons have won big on the defensive end. The younger brother of former two-time Hopkins captain Beaudan Szuluk has shades of his game in terms of the way he moves and communicates, among other qualities. He’s not as long and rangy, but he makes up for it with high-level footwork and an active stick. He’s smooth off the ground and, when he goes up to the wings of face-offs, Nyman is incredibly impactful and knows what to do with the ball once it’s in his stick. Projected as a starter on a stacked Big Red backline in the ’27 season, he’s cerebral and instinctive, and will help round out that unit in complementary fashion while inevitably taking on a number of big-time matchups.

With a strong lacrosse bloodline and experience across multiple positions before picking up a pole, Nyman has the foundation for long-term success. On ball, he stands out for his disciplined footwork and ability to apply constant pressure with cross-checks and stick work. Off ball, he plays sound team defense, communicating well and showing strong instincts with his slide timing.

Nyman is also confident in transition, where his stick skills allow him to make quick, accurate reads in the clearing game. His all-around game makes him a steady presence on the back end with clear upside as he continues to develop.
