About Asher
Expert Analysis
Michael Campanile | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Getson could easily project as an offensive or two-way midfielder at the next level, but after watching him play SSDM at NHSLS, I’m putting him in the defensive category. One look at his stance and lateral movement tells you he has the tools to be a great short-stick defender. His feet stay active and independent of his hard cross-checks, so he can be physical without lunging at dodgers. That combination gives him lockdown potential. Wherever Lawrenceville uses him in the spring, Getson will be an excellent option on the face-off wing. He has the speed and physicality to win groundball battles consistently. His dodging and finishing ability would make him a top goal scorer at 99% of high schools, but L’ville is a different animal.

A powerful and athletic midfielder, Asher has followed a similar path to his older brother Brock Getson, a top 2025 defender now at Harvard, by moving from Harvard-Westlake (CA) to Lawrenceville (NJ) for his sophomore year. With excellent size and deceptive speed, Asher has a natural ability to get to the goal and finish in traffic. He’s just beginning to tap into his full potential, showing flashes of dominance on both ends of the field. His combination of athleticism and versatility gives him the tools to contribute as an offensive initiator or a defensive midfielder, depending on how he’s deployed at Lawrenceville. Competing with Mad Dog West Elite, Asher continues to evolve into a complete, college-caliber two-way threat with an exciting ceiling.
