One of the more noticeable defenders at The Preview play day was a six-foot lefty who used his size and aggressiveness to set the tone defensively. Cummins stood out for his willingness to extend pressure all the way to the restraining line and immediately engage his matchup’s hands. His footwork is sound, and with his strength, any attacker who stays at one speed is going to feel his cross-check and struggle to get clean shots off.
He also showed good reads in the clearing game, moving the ball with confidence. While his stick skills are still developing, that will come with time—and as a 2029, he already has the defensive mindset and physical tools that make him a player to watch. Cummins brings the kind of edge and upside that coaches love to see in young defenders.

Cummins is a lefty pole with remarkable skills, noteworthy size (6’0”; 165 lbs.) and a decorated resume. He is a dominant on-ball defender who can turn an opponent multiple times until that offensive player gets frustrated and moves the ball or commits a turnover. Cummins causes a great deal of those turnovers via his well-timed pokes, lifts and stick checks. The combination of his refined footwork and athleticism enables Cummins to defend the ball 1v1 anywhere on the field. Cummins is also a solid team defender who can execute slide packages as well as double teams. This 2029 prospect is a ground ball machine too. Cummins has proven that he can scoops up GBs and then dash down field to generate a transition opportunity. During summer 2025, Cummins was named to the all-tournament team at the New Balance All-America event and was selected for the USA Lacrosse U15 Youth National Team.
