Expert Analysis
Carey Smith | Prep Lacrosse Scout
In La Salle’s win over Ridley, Heron proved to be a defensive force. He is a close defender with imposing size, good speed, and an active stick. This past Saturday, Heron used those assets to supply suffocating on ball defense. He frequently overpowered ball carriers with his physicality. When he wasn’t bullying opponents, he was causing turnovers with powerful stick checks or crafty pokes. Once the ball was on the turf, Heron’s aggressive stick and nose for the ball enabled him to secure GB. Heron also served as a one-man clear several times during La Salle’s victory by swiftly legging the ball over the midfield line. This junior also executed timely slides as well as double teams. Heron missed the 2025 season with an injury. But it is time college coaches stopped sleeping on this high-level defensive prospect.
