Green is an extraordinarily athletic prospect who is a standout ice hockey player too. That hockey background is obvious in Green’s aggressive, physical, and up-tempo style of play on the lacrosse field. Green is a suffocating on-ball defender who wears out opponents by applying constant pressure on their hands and by mixing in a healthy dose of body checks. Green can then cause turnovers via heavy stick checks as well as crafty pokes, lifts, and can openers. He is also a rock-steady team defender whose slides and double teams are always on time. Still, the most impressive part of Green’s game could be how swiftly he converts ground balls/turnovers into transition opportunities. Green is a master at securing possession in the defensive end, getting his head up and then firing a seed up the field to an open teammate. His ability to thread an outlet pass between two opposing players and into a teammate’s stick is extremely impressive. Green has also demonstrated that he owns the speed, polished stick skill, and lacrosse IQ to leg the ball out himself and lead the fast break.

Green is a multisport athlete (also standout in ice hockey) with speed, polished footwork, and a solid frame. On the lacrosse field that trifecta enables Green to pursue ball carriers on the perimeter for long stretches and then cause turnovers by taking the body. Green will also use heavy stick checks as well as crafty pokes and lifts to create turnovers. When the ball hits the turf, Green excels at snaring the GB in traffic and then dashing into open space. College coaches will also love Green’s ability to disrupt passing / shooting lanes with his stick. Green is a plus team defender because of his high lacrosse IQ and communication skills. Those assets enable Green to easily navigate over or through screens too.
