Expert Analysis
Carey Smith | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Kinnard’s extraordinary athleticism and open-field speed were on full display during this scrimmage. The 3rd quarter goal Kinnard scored came on a clearing play in which he raced around three Gilman defenders near the midfield line and then executed a beautiful swim dodge on a pole that attempted to slow him down. Once he found open space, Kinnard unleashed an 18-yard sidearm rip into the top corner. Kinnard also did a fantastic job initiating from up top or the wing in 6v6 action. The High Point coaching staff will love Kinnard’s ability to play SSDM, too.

. He has proved to be one of the best middies on the field, no matter where he plays this fall. He’ll play the wing and win the groundball on faceoffs, score multiple goals on offense, and create turnovers on defense. With the ball in his stick, he relies on his speed and downhill dodging to torch defenders. He has a great on-the-run shot and can do it with both hands. If he can’t immediately crack the offensive lineup at the next level, I can see him playing short stick because of the athleticism he shows on defense. He’s constantly confrontational one-on-one, has a nasty crowbar move, and will burn anyone trying to ride him with his speed.
