Below is a review of three prep school teams from Pennsylvania that I will be watching closely during upcoming fall ball action.

Haverford School

The Fords return a host of key players from their 2026 squad that lost to Malvern Prep in the PIASSA state tournament championship game. Plus, Haverford School will mix in three incoming transfers who should make positive contributions beginning this fall.

Spearheading the group of returners are attackman [player_tooltip player_id='23606' first='Conor' last='Morsell'] (Notre Dame), midfielders [player_tooltip player_id='24324' first='Finn' last='French'] (Duke) and [player_tooltip player_id='171276' first='Danny' last='Kinnard'] (High Points) as well as FOGO [player_tooltip player_id='82311' first='Gavin' last='Morrissey'] (Villanova), attackman [player_tooltip player_id='127151' first='Chris' last='Burnetta'] (Harvard) and goalie [player_tooltip player_id='120638' first='Jackson' last='Gillis'] (Notre Dame).

The Haverford School roster also boasts several young buck returners who are appear ready for breakout seasons in 2026-27. Class of 2028 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='168070' first='Michael' last='Olender'] is an athletic midfielder who can get downhill in a flash for goals or assist. Fellow 2028 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='142367' first='Sam' last='O'Kane'] is a two-way midfielder who quietly had a tremendous season last spring. Starting this fall, we expect O'Kane will take his game to the next level. Sophomore attackman [player_tooltip player_id='172579' first='Cale' last='Seaman'] received a few starts last spring and flashed impressive shooting skills. Seaman is primed for a breakout this year.

In addition to their extraordinary list of returners, Haverford School brought in attackman [player_tooltip player_id='129602' first='Christopher' last='Bryan'], midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='202644' first='Keane' last='Smith'] and goalie [player_tooltip player_id='171691' first='Teddy' last='Curry'] via transfer. Bryan is a versatile and highly skilled offensive prospect who posted 45 goals to go along with 23 assists in 2026. Smith will add athleticism, size, and elusive dodging skills to the Fords lineup. Curry is a highly decorated and poised 2028 net minder with fast hands.

Hill School

Last spring Hill School won 15 games and advanced to the PAISAA state tournament semifinals. The Blues graduated a slew of high-level prospects from that 2026 roster, so some are predicting a step back for the program this year. Those “experts” are in for a rude awakening.

Returning for Hill will be all-everything 2028 midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='129788' first='Chase' last='Aquino'] as well as senior standouts [player_tooltip player_id='121753' first='Leo' last='Gillette'] (Boston), [player_tooltip player_id='129780' first='Sullivan' last='Keith'] (Lafayette), [player_tooltip player_id='33248' first='Carson' last='Meredith'] (Dartmouth), Adrian Kosinski (Fairfield) and Noel Mendez (Bowdoin).

The impressive list of returners will be bolstered by a remarkable group of incoming transfers. Headlining that transfer group is [player_tooltip player_id='168128' first='Maddox' last='Green'] who is an athletic, ball hawking LSM. Green's scoop and go abilities will benefit Hill's transition offense greatly. Another transfer who should have an enormous impact is elite face off specialist [player_tooltip player_id='172669' first='Colin' last='Cotton'] (Lafayette). Starting this fall, Cotton's incredible pick-n-pop skills will keep Hill playing downhill all year. Also coming to Hill via transfer is two-way midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='171298' first='Stefan' last='Snyder'] (Wesleyan) and lefty attackman [player_tooltip player_id='178863' first='Thomas' last='Dailey']. This past summer, both Snyder and Dailey proved to be nice fits for Hill's lineup.

For Hill, opponents will also want to tightly mark attack / midfield prospect [player_tooltip player_id='171511' first='Lach' last='Dumais']. This 2029 with shake and filthy stick skills posted a monster summer that increased his recruiting stock significantly.

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy

With their dynamic Class of 2026 having graduated and now playing in college, many are predicting a rebuilding year for the Blue Devils. There is some merit to that theory. However, I am betting that the rebuild goes faster than expected thanks to a suffocating defensive unit which will lead SCHA until the offense finds its groove.

Two-way midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='129584' first='Joey' last='Schreiber'] (Loyola), versatile long-pole [player_tooltip player_id='129538' first='Cooper' last='Schreiner'] (Gettysburg), and goalie [player_tooltip player_id='173660' first='Brendan' last='Dynan'] will that lead that defensive group. All three players are returning starters who posted fantastic 2026 seasons. Joining that group via transfer will be close defender [player_tooltip player_id='174698' first='Zach' last='Strohl']. During his freshman campaign at Plymouth Whitemarsh, the highly regarded Strohl vacuumed up 138 ground balls and caused 51 turnovers. In addition to his stick skills, Stroh will bring size and physicality to the SCHA defense. Look for stock rising 2028 LSM / close defender [player_tooltip player_id='202504' first='Alex' last='Strock'] to post a breakout year starting this fall. Strock owns noteworthy speed, polished footwork, and an active stick.

On offense, the Blue Devils will lean on midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='174230' first='Weston' last='Lanzetta'], attack / midfield prospect [player_tooltip player_id='165736' first='Micah' last='Weiman'] and two-way midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='202522' first='Reid' last='Dickson'] to provide the scoring punch. In 2026, Lanzetta put his name on the recruiting map with his ability to score via step downs as well as sidearm rips on the run. Weiman can initiate from anywhere on the field but is especially dangerous when operating at X. Dickson is an explosive athlete with nifty stick skills who thrives in transition and is difficult to defend 1v1 in settled action.

College coaches will want to scout 2028 face off specialist [player_tooltip player_id='143736' first='James' last='Simonetti'] this fall too. Simonetti is coming off a fantastic summer in which he dominated opponents at marquee tournaments such as NHSLS, Naptown and the Alliance Summer Championships.
