That was just one example of the high lacrosse IQ and polished stick skills from Burnetta in this contest. Burnetta also flashed a powerful outside shot on a sidearm rip from 12-yards out that found pay dirt.

Chris had a sensational sophomore season and was simply too good to be ignored. He is part of a terrific trio of 2027s that can produce points in a hurry for Haverford’s highly potent offense. Burnetta fights to finish in front of the goal, allowing him to increase his angle and probability to draw a penalty with an “And 1” type of play. He can change direction on a dime and finalize short sticks. Chris is comfortable posting up at 10 on the hash and freeing his hands for a quality look at the cage. He is a relentless rider, reminding us that turnovers in the middle of the field usually equate to 1/2 a goal. Burnetta showcased brilliant hands vs Delbarton (N.J.), where he leaked out the backside on the lefty wing and sniped it after corralling a pass thrown to his offside. He can play most positions within an offense and feed effectively on the point of a man-up offense. Verbally committed to Harvard.

Earlier in the week, this 4-star attack announced via social media that he had committed to Harvard. Burnetta is a well-rounded offensive player with a knack for rising to the occasion in big games. He is an incredibly creative passer who can deliver dimes to the backside, hit cutters in stride and fire skip passes to open teammates. He excels in two-man action as well as in give-n-go scenarios. When needed, Burnetta can also score from anywhere in the offensive end. His polished stick skills and change of direction moves frequently produce goals on the run. Burnetta’s field awareness and high IQ enable him to find open spaces in the defense for quick catch and shoot dunks. His ability to fire from multiple angles makes Burnetta a threat rip from the wing too.     

Burnetta’s impact was far greater than his total of 1G/1A might indicate, as the promising sophomore constantly created opportunities and made high IQ plays. Utilizing his brilliant change of direction in the second quarter, Burnetta made a highlight-reel play when he pulled off a nasty hockey stop (that nearly caused a Malvern shortstick to fall over the net) and finished in front of the cage. Burnetta had a brilliant tic-tac-toe hockey assist in the third quarter on a goal that he created himself before sending the ball over to Finn French Finn French 6'1" | 160 lbs | M/SSDM | Right Hand The Haverford School | 2027 #28 Nation PA then to Morsell for the finish. A savvy playmaker with excellent stick skills, Burnetta is just as capable without the ball as he is as a ball-carrier, and his skill set is sure to attract a bevy of recruiters this summer.
