The Palo Verde vs Bishop Gorman Matchup

Palo Verde has yet to lose an LVLA game this season, going 10-0 in league play. Winning six of those games by double digits. They have been a cohesive team all year long that shares the ball on offense, and they take real pride in their defense as well. A few of their top offensive threats have been: [player_tooltip player_id='171379' first='Luke' last='Rava'], [player_tooltip player_id='171577' first='Brandon' last='Freitag'], Slater Salinas, Mason Robinson, and Seth Salinas. Each of them can get to their spots, and their shot place is exceptional. On the defensive end, the Panthers have had a committee of players contributing. And guys like [player_tooltip player_id='176505' first='Danny' last='Richards'], [player_tooltip player_id='176504' first='Jace' last='Mims'], and Nick Lakdhari (SSDM) have been incredibly consistent. On top of that, Palo Verde has gotten some great goalie play from [player_tooltip player_id='126566' first='Jose' last='Aragon'], while their FOGO, Alex Connelly, plays with grit every time he's at the X.

On the other hand, Bishop Gorman went 4-5 in their 9 LVLA games. Their wins have come against: One Hill, the Pirates, and the Cougars. When it comes to their offense, they have true shooters in Colton Segler and [player_tooltip player_id='124923' first='Ryan' last='Cambeiro']. Both can snipe shots from the wings, and they also get underneath the defense from time to time. In addition to those two attackmen, they've had middies Zach Coneh and [player_tooltip player_id='176506' first='Merek' last='Mastrov'] (LSM) as their dodgers. Coneh is quite shifty, and makes unorthodox maneuvers at times that defenders just can't anticipate. Mastrov is capable of getting downhill too. And he'll launch missiles from up top. On defense, [player_tooltip player_id='176507' first='Beau' last='LaVoie'] and Mastrov have led the way. Causing turnovers and making pivotal plays when needed. 2028 Goalie, [player_tooltip player_id='174383' first='Mason' last='Wingard'] has also shown his development and stops difficult shots. [player_tooltip player_id='124875' first='Xander' last='Iway'] has been their face off man, and he can spark transition if he plays it ahead cleanly.

The Faith Lutheran vs Cougars Matchup

Faith Lutheran finished second in the LVLA in the regular season standings with a 7-3 record. Giving them the two seed. They will now work to get to the next round, but they have to get by the Cougars first. So far they have split the 2 games they have played against each other. The Cougars took round one, after Tyson Morse hit a game winner in OT. But then the Crusaders claimed round 2, with a 7-2 win. On offense, Faith has had a bevy of players rising to the occasion this season. Including their trio of attackmen: [player_tooltip player_id='176689' first='Weston' last='Schultz'], [player_tooltip player_id='174962' first='Joey' last='Marmor'], [player_tooltip player_id='176691' first='Finn' last='Reber']. All confident players who have a nose for the goal. Then they've also been getting production from their middies, like Liam Schulz, Kymani Blas-Barlow, and Johnny Trumbull. On the defensive end, [player_tooltip player_id='125267' first='Hudson' last='Pavicich'] (LSM), Chase Garcia, Daniel Auon, and Gabe Steinmen have been putting on their hard hats to limit opposing teams. Jett Piercy has been seeing the ball well in cage, as [player_tooltip player_id='175330' first='Pierce' last='Isani'] makes not so easy stops just as well.

The Cougars ended up going 4-4 in LVLA play and they'll be hungry to advance if they can. They have a number of seniors who have been crucial to their success. Koa Hernandez, Tyson Morse, [player_tooltip player_id='127435' first='Andrew' last='Viloria'], and Beau Pippenger give them ample experienced players. Who have been in big matchups before. They also have underclassmen that can fill up the stat sheet in Ari Pack, [player_tooltip player_id='176484' first='Henry' last='Pack'], Scotty Lennox, and Greyson Weiss. Then they have [player_tooltip player_id='176510' first='DJ' last='Rogers'], [player_tooltip player_id='176508' first='Karson' last='Kuhar'], Euan Driscoll, and Andrew Kale holding down the fort on defense. They are a physical group that can deliver big checks to dislodge the ball. Anthony Taylor will be in goal for them and he has helped them win some close games against the Crusaders before.
