<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Tuesday night, Radnor traveled to archrival Springfield for a rematch of the 2025 PIAA 3A state championship game. As we all know, Springfield won that 2025 title bout 6-4.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Early on Tuesday night it appeared as though Springfield was going to take home the victory in this contest too. The Cougars scored just forty-five seconds into this game on a [player_tooltip player_id='20026' first='Brad' last='Barber'] lefty rip from 14 yards out. Springfield then jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to a smooth sweep from X and finish around the crease by Penn State commit [player_tooltip player_id='20475' first='Luke' last='Valerio'].&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>But late in the 1st quarter, Radnor found their footing and bounced back to tie the game 2-2. Both Radnor goals came courtesy of attackman [player_tooltip player_id='123287' first='Finn' last='Petrone'] (Lehigh commit). Then in the second quarter, Radnor midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='143780' first='Cavin' last='Much'] found the back of the net twice to give the Raptors a 4-2 lead at halftime.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the third quarter, Springfield pulled within 4-3 on a man-up, scoop and score of&nbsp; a rebound by Jared Kennedy. That was the lone tally in the 3rd quarter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Radnor put this one away in the 4th quarter with three goals. Junior midfielders [player_tooltip player_id='141718' first='Zach' last='French'] and Max Peterson each recorded a goal during that stretch. Meanwhile at the other end of the field, Radnor's defensive unit backed by standout 2028 goalie prospect [player_tooltip player_id='171691' first='Teddy' last='Curry'] pitched a shutout. Radnor's impressive 4th quarter secured a 7-4 victory.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Below is a review of the prospects who impressed during the Radnor at Springfield game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Radnor</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["176042"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":["override_image"],"_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":176070,"_player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":"field_62f141137ead9","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69d809f539f34"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Radnor's defensive unit executed a tight zone for the majority of this game and Cox was a major reason for the success of that scheme. The sophomore used his active stick and quick reflexes to disrupt passing lanes. Those same assets helped Cox knock down a couple of shots too. On a handful of Springfield possessions, Cox delivered backside double teams that created turnovers. He also used well-timed trail checks to put the ball on the ground. Lastly, Cox showed his speed and field awareness when he led Radnor's transition game several times.    </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["171691"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69d809f539fc3"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">After giving up two goals in the opening minutes, Curry settled in and showed why he is one of top goalie prospects in Pennsylvania. Curry's fast hands and agile drops / slides enabled him to stop Springfield's close range scoring chances. He also did a tremendous job of tracking perimeter shots and then snaring those shots cleanly. His poise and quick reactions on several rebound attempts by Springfield were impressive. Curry (14 saves) also showed hustle and grit on a couple key chases he won for Radnor.   </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["143780"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69d809f53a037"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">This two-way midfielder had his offensive game cooking on Tuesday night, as Much scored a pair of goals in Radnor's victory. The first came on a play where Much caught a pass in traffic, dashed between two defenders and then fired a sidearm off the goalie's hip and into the net. On his second goal, Much dashed down the left alley, dipped underneath his man, flipped his stick to his inside hand and finished to the far corner. At the other end of the field, Much was key part of Radnor's stingy zone defense. His physical play, smooth switches and smart recoveries helped limit Springfield's offense to four goals. Much was also a plus player on the face off wing as well as in Radnor's clearing game.     </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["123287"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69d809f53a0a6"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">During Radnor's win, Petrone stuffed the stat book with 3 goals to go along with 3 assists. His most impressive goal was a play on which Petrone (Lehigh commit) ran off a screen, caught a pass on the wing and then ripped a low-to-low shot into the net. This lefty's finely tuned finishing skills were on full display during all three of his goals. The Lehigh staff will love the smart off-ball movements Petrone displayed in this game. In the 3rd quarter, Petrone also dished out a smooth dime from the wing to teammate [player_tooltip player_id='141718' first='Zach' last='French'] who had come open via a cut down the middle of the field.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Springfield</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["20026"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69d809f53a111"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Based on his outstanding play Tuesday night, nobody would have known that Barber spent the off-season rehabbing a torn ACL and just recently returned to the field. Despite the fact that he received extra attention from Radnor's defense, Barber (Maryland signee) recorded two goals and an assist. His first tally came under a minute into the 1st quarter via a lefty crank from deep. Barber's swift release on that shot was incredible. In the 4th quarter, Barber found the back of the net again. This time it was via a sidearm rip from 15 yards out during a man-up opportunity. Barber's poise, willingness to make the extra pass and ability to operate with both hands were impressive during this game.   </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["175504"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69d809f53a17c"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Rush was a force at the dot for Springfield in this game as he went 10-for-15 on face offs (67%). His powerful hands and quick reaction times produced a slew of clean clamps that led to fast break opportunities for the Cougars. However, what was even more impressive, was Rush's ability to use his physicality to muck and grind out wins. Plus, Rush did a tremendous job of executing defensive exits, then chasing down the ensuing GBs and securing possession. Rush's extensive wrestling background was obvious in his style of play.    </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["173983"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":["override_image"],"_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":176073,"_player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":"field_62f141137ead9","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-69d809f53a1fc"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">On Tuesday night, Toomey (High Point signee) pursued ball carriers all over the field and applied constant pressure on Radnor's attack group. This long and athletic pole did an especially impressive job of defending on-ball behind the cage. When the opportunity presented itself, Toomey executed timely double teams that generated turnovers. Toomey also demonstrated that he has the discipline and quick twitch abilities to cover off-ball cutters. The combination of Toomey's speed and aggressive stick work produced several smooth GB pick-ups. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
