Over his career at Radnor, French has effectively played both midfield and attack. Last night he worked as a two-way midfielder and posted an incredible performance. Offensively, French scored two goals and frequently operated as the quarterback of Radnor’s offense. His second goal was a smooth play where he dodged down the right alley, spun back middle and then fired a lefty rocket over the goalie’s shoulder. Wednesday night French demonstrated that he is comfortable initiating from anywhere in the offensive end. On a couple of possessions, he exploded out of the box, received an outlet pass and then smartly pushed the fast break. A number of times on Wednesday night, French dropped back and played a physical brand of SSDM. He was a plus player in Radnor’s clearing game too.      

Heading into the final games of Radnor’s regular season, French was already posting an outstanding season. Then he went out and closed the 2026 schedule in style with a barrage of goals. This physical and skilled hybrid midfielder / attack poured in six goals in win over Haverford and then three goals in Radnor’s defeat of St. Joe’s Prep. In addition to scoring goals, French has worked as a Swiss Army Knife for the Raptors. He has quarterbacked Radnor’s designed plays, dropped dimes on teammates and been a plus player on the ride. At times, French has even helped clear the ball for Radnor’s defense. College coaches will love the way French has run through contact on the fast break and in settled action. They will obsess over the was French has scored and distributed with both hands too.    

The only multi-goal scorer for Radnor against Summit was Zach French Zach French 6'0" | 180 lbs | A/M | Right Hand Radnor | 2027 PA , and both of his tallies came on the man-up unit. French operates really well out of that low right spot, pinching the back pipe and drifting into skip lanes to make himself available. In the second quarter, he buried one after catching a skip pass, slipping by with a slick under move, and taking a hard hit on the finish. He added another with under a minute left in the game, catching on the doorstep and selling a hard near-pipe fake before finishing far side.

On Saturday, Summit sat mostly in zone, which limited a lot of what French does best by keeping him in check inside and along the goal line. Even so, his skill set is obvious. French is a phenomenal finisher in tight and has a good step-down in his arsenal. From X, he shows good vision and touch, consistently threading skips through tight windows. Those traits are only going to pop more as the season goes on and Radnor sees more man-to-man looks.

In 2025, French was a starting attackman for a Radnor team that advanced to the 3A state championship. But the Class of 2025’s graduation depleted Radnor’s midfield group, so the athletic and gritty French has moved to middie for 2026. In his first game at his new position, French did not miss a beat. He recorded one goal to go along with two assists and quarterbacked the Radnor offense. French did an excellent job of initiating for Radnor and getting the team into their designed plays. On several possessions, French dashed out of the box, received a clearing pass, and then smartly ran the ball through heavy traffic and into the offensive end. His poise and ability to dodge through contact were evident all game.
