Expert Analysis
Carey Smith | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Based on his outstanding play Tuesday night, nobody would have known that Barber spent the off-season rehabbing a torn ACL and just recently returned to the field. Despite the fact that he received extra attention from Radnor’s defense, Barber (Maryland signee) recorded two goals and an assist. His first tally came under a minute into the 1st quarter via a lefty crank from deep. Barber’s swift release on that shot was incredible. In the 4th quarter, Barber found the back of the net again. This time it was via a sidearm rip from 15 yards out during a man-up opportunity. Barber’s poise, willingness to make the extra pass and ability to operate with both hands were impressive during this game.

Springfield’s highly touted 2026 attackman was a focal point for Radnor’s defense, so he did not have many scoring chances. Still, he did manage to put two goals on the board. Barber proved once again that he can snipe from multiple spots on the field. His knack for changing levels and angles on his shots is one of his best assets. Barber also moved well off-ball. Plus, he displayed a scrappy side to his game that was noteworthy.

Unfortunately, Barber missed his freshman season with a significant knee injury. However, those who have closely followed lacrosse in southeastern Pennsylvania know this left-hander can find the back of the net in numerous ways. With his quick first step and shiftiness, Barber can dodge to create opportunities for himself or his teammates. Barber also plays football, so he’s more than capable of handling contact on his way to the cage. His quick trigger and pinpoint accuracy enable Barber to squeeze a shot through the smallest of windows. Barber has been the recipient of double teams his entire career, so he is also adept at rapidly moving the ball to the open man. The summer after his eighth-grade year, Barber was a Class of 2025 All-Star at the One Percent Showcase.
