This extraordinarily athletic and rangy pole is a three-sport standout who also plays football and basketball. On the lacrosse field, Sheffield uses his speed and refined lateral footwork from hoops to stay glued to ball carriers. Sheffield does a fantastic job of beating an opponent to a spot and turning him. Plus, he is a master at constantly harassing a ball carrier’s hands. Sheffield will also use his football physicality to get into the offensive player early in his dodge and stop him cold. When the opportunity presents itself, Sheffield will execute a stick check, lift, or poke that puts the ball on the ground. Sheffield’s scoop-and-go skills allow him to lead transition opportunities for his team. At the end of July, Sheffield was a key member of the Team Philly squad that won the Command Division at the New Balance All-America event.
