Expert Analysis
Eric Bretz | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Rotkowitz was nearly unstoppable in this game with precision shooting and a powerful release. He tallied four goals and two assists, with his first three goals coming in the second quarter with good instincts off-ball to find passing lanes and hard cuts to create space. He displayed his quick hands around the crease area and his strength to run through stick checks and finish in traffic. The Rutgers commit has great size at the lefty attack position and a hard shot with time and room and utilizes his stick skills and deception when on the doorstep. His first assist came by taking advantage of his short-stick matchup which turned into a quick slide and then late in the game he stayed patient with his defender hung up and connected with Santucci off a clean cut. The Team Ten star is currently second on the team in goals (47) and leading the team in assists (37) and points (84).

Rotkowitz is one of a few leaders for the Renegades offensively and will be returning this spring, looking to help his squad get back to the state title game, where he recorded four goals, but fell short to Summit. With his size and strength, he is a handful to deal with and displays a high lacrosse IQ and unselfish style of play that is fun to watch. He tallied 61 goals and 38 assists in 2025 and has a methodical approach when dodging his matchup, staying patient and striking when the chance presents itself. The Rutgers commit is an excellent shooter in traffic or with space, displaying good accuracy and velocity on his shots, and uses his size well. He has a great feel for the game and is a dynamic player, able to create from anywhere on the field, making him a tough player to defend.

With McAneney getting a lot of attention and drawing the Raiders’ best defender, it was a perfect situation for Rotkowitz to shine. He’s a big, physical attackman who can impact the game in numerous ways. He works well to get himself in position to score off-ball and when he has his chances he does a good job of hitting the cage. His dodging ability was also on display all day as he used his quick feet and strength to beat his matchups from X and turn the corner coming up field for high percentage looks, while also mixing up his shot location to keep the goalie guessing. The Rutgers commit finished with 7 goals and 1 assist on the day.

This big-time target uses back cuts to slip into open space & is thinking 2 or 3 passes ahead with excellent timing. Rotkowitz is a high-level prospect improving off the dodge, especially dangerous as an inside finisher with his stick up & ready to receive. Verbally committed to Rutgers.

After combining for 125 goals and 64 assists as sophomores, the Shawnee tandem of Rotkowitz and Thomas McAneney had a lot of success while helping lift their loaded Team Ten squad to a championship at Great 8 on Sunday. Often serving as the beneficiary of his teammates’ dodgers, Rotkowitz recorded a hat trick against the Texas Mustangs in the final. He caught everything thrown his way and finished appropriately, changing planes and going low and away on one particular offering. A tall, left-handed target, he’s got super soft hands and is always keeping his feet moving off-ball. In addition, he was relentless in the ride, as were his teammates.
