Expert Analysis
Eric Bretz | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Kievit was on fire from the jump, starting with back-to-back saves on Seton Hall Prep’s first possession, and saw the ball well all game long. He came up with 13 total saves, but did much more for his team by connecting on quick and crisp outlet passes to his teammates and coming out of the cage on loose balls to fight for possessions. The Fairfield commit displays a wide frame in cage and communicates well with his defenders, making the expected saves while also showing off his athleticism when slightly out of position or in tight, with quick hands. One thing that he possesses that cannot be taught is the clutch gene: making a big save with under five seconds left in the 4th quarter and another tough one in OT, which led to the game-winning goal by Hynes. I expect Kievit to continue to play a huge role in Summit’s success this season and be one of the main reasons why they’re still alive come early June.

started in goal the past two seasons for Summit leading them to back-to-back State Championships. Kievit was named New Jersey’s Freshman of the Year in 2023 & Sophomore of the Year in 2024. Robbie was a brick wall as a sophomore saving 70% of the shots on goal & holding teams to 3.5 goals against average. Kievit is balanced in his stance & plays confidently on the backline of the defense. Kievit matches stick in tight protecting the top-shelf. Robbie will snap low & sniff out shots from the outside. Kievit catches most shots clean & will look to get the ball up & out. An athletic goalkeeper who makes timely stops in the big games.

Kievit has been the number one option in the net for Summit in the past two seasons, both ending with the Hilltoppers hoisting the state championship trophy in June. He finished with 121 saves as a freshman and topped that as a sophomore with 180 saves. Summit has always been known for its superior defensive strategy and for holding teams to low goal totals, but that starts with a goaltender who can make the tough saves in critical spots and someone who can take command. He does a good job of that, along with using solid technique, reading the opponent’s shots, and making quick, acrobatic saves. Kievit should have a good amount of schools looking into him as he’ll be looking for the 3-peat this spring.
