Already looking like one of the top LSMs in the 2028 class, Cooper Smoragiewicz Cooper Smoragiewicz 5'11" | LSM | Left Hand Summit | 2028 NJ was all over the field for Summit in their win over Radnor. He checks every box you want at that spot: aggressive on-ball, willing to take chances because of his athleticism, and he’s got a really clean stick. On the ball, he’s a true takeaway defender. He’s not afraid to trail a dodger a step to go over the head or knock it loose with a well-timed trail check. Off the wings, he’s excellent on groundballs, using his speed and dangles with the pole to come out of piles with possession.

On the other side of the ball, he’s a legit offensive weapon. He buried a step-down on Saturday despite Summit being at a numbers disadvantage, and his film backs up that he can score on the run, in tight, and with both hands. Summit can use him in a lot of ways because he is so good with his stick. They can leave him in on offense in transition and special situations where he can handle the ball, but also be available to drop back if they want to kill any transition opportunities for the opponent. Smoragiewicz is absolutely a name college coaches need to have circled heading into this summer.

Always around the ball, Smoragiewicz’s impact was felt right off the bat and then put on constant display. The energetic lefty was all over the field making key plays, gobbling up clean GBs off the wing, causing disruption when sliding, and pushing the ball upfield while showing confidence carrying with either hand. He’s got outstanding hands and stick work, always making his presence felt on-ball and then knowing what to do with the ball once he picks the ball off the carpet. Against 3d New England, he had a big caused turnover and groundball late, then scooped up another key GB when doubling. Coming off a highly successful football season (which included him kicking the game-winning field goal in a playoff matchup a week prior), Smoragiewicz’s motor, athleticism, and competitive drive made him incredibly fun to watch.
