Expert Analysis
Kyle Devitte | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Good luck slipping the ball past Tunney with a low shot. A lot of modern goaltenders make their bones by dropping to stop five-hole shots instead of actually getting their stick down to make a proper save. Tunney is great at getting down without losing his feet, something that I wish more modern goalkeepers were more consistent with. Tunney is, at his core, a shot stopper in the purest sense. Like, he is the guy you want facing a mid-range rocket to tie the game and staying stick-to-stick on the crease to block that last gasp of offense at the end of a quarter.

brings exceptional poise and reliability to the crease. He is a strong ball stopper with disciplined footwork and stout technique, consistently putting himself in the perfect position to make saves. Scoring on him from the outside is extremely difficult, and his quick, reactive hands take away high-quality opportunities on the inside. Tunney’s composure carries into the clearing game, where he sees the field well and initiates transition with smart, accurate outlets. His ability to control rebounds, command his arc, and set up high-percentage possessions makes him a steady anchor for the defense. Reese’s consistency, IQ, and technical discipline establish him as one of the top goaltending prospects in the class.
