Expert Analysis

Sabel had a great year overall and an even better month of June as he went on a heater in the non-public state tournament and proved to be a handful for his Kirst Cup opponents as well, with a hat trick in the final. The Villanova commit is the facilitator offensively for the Pirates and has done a great job of finding his spots on the field and setting up his defender in order to get to those spots. He can crush you with time and room or on the run and has elite accuracy mixed with his athletic ability and stick skills. Even when he isn’t the one getting the goals or assists on the stat-sheet, he is the one who kickstarts the offense with a dodge and is able to draw a slide to get the defense out of position.

stayed steady with his production, recording a hat trick in the semifinals and then racking up 4 goals and an assist in the title game to help seal the victory. The Villanova commit is the leader of the Pirates’ offense and has the ability to take the game over, with 57 goals and 26 assists on the season, leading the team in both categories, Sabel shows no signs of slowing down.

, his club teammate, but he was active with and without the ball all day and made his opponents weary about him. His first goal came on a stepdown look out of a timeout late in the half when the Green Wave had switched to a zone defense, and he was able to get an open chance and wouldn’t be denied. The Villanova commit has aggressive dodging tendencies and a high lacrosse IQ, knowing when a play is there to be made or when to not force a shot.
