Expert Analysis
Eric Bretz | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Dunleavy was an integral part of the Pirates success in 2025, finishing with 38 goals and 14 assists on the year, while also tallying a goal in their Non-Public state finals matchup against Don Bosco Prep. He is a gritty lefty attackman that shows great effort and determination with and without the ball. When dodging, he is a smooth operator with good footwork and stick skills to evade pressure on a double team or in tight. The UMBC commit uses his speed to gain a step on his matchup and has good vision to find an open teammate or stick one in the back of the net. When shooting, he has a quick release on the run or in traffic and with time and room he displays power and accuracy. With a few players having graduated, Dunleavy could step into a larger role this spring for Seton Hall Prep.

While he battled injury this summer for Leading Edge, Dunleavy has shown that he is a marksman with time and room. With limited reps due to a crowded attack room at Seton Hall Prep, Dunleavy posted 16 goals and four assists as a sophomore and is bound to start at attack this spring following the graduation of two multi-year starters. He is a great spot-up shooter with a quick release and does a good job of putting the ball in tough spots for goalies to get a read on. In man-up situations, he works well as the down lefty attackman since he doesn’t need much of an angle to score with his accurate shot. Another good quality about the New Providence native is that he has shown patience when dodging and will re-dodge if he likes his matchup.
