Returning All-American Luca Pompeii Luca Pompeii 6'1" | 175 lbs | M | Right Hand Salesianum | 2025 #88 Nation DE is a consensus 4-star prospect, already capturing two DE State Championships. He plays aggressively powering his way to the goal & finishing with ease. At times Pompeii has been able to finish with almost an entire defense on him. With over 100 career points already Luca shows a good right-to-left split downhill from the point up top. Luca beats goalies with fundamental overhand shots that are accurately placed. Excellent dodger & decision maker using picks to his advantage in the two-man game. Pompeii will beat short sticks with either hand & change of direction from X or the wing. Verbally committed to Maryland.

Considering Pompeii flew under the radar leading up to his commitment to Maryland last October, it’s fair to say that that’s no longer the case, especially after a stellar few days at New Balance weekend. A strong, athletic, and two-handed offensive weapon, Pompeii was among the most impressive midfielders at the event and earned All-Tournament honors. He was particularly strong in a three-goal outing in a matchup with the Midwest squad that was chock-full of fellow Big 10 commits. He found the net on a low-and-away offering out of a rollback at the end of the first quarter, on a split dodge, and by getting underneath the defense. Later on in the event, Philly continued to ride his hot hand. I love how he doesn’t back down from either matchup, as well as how dynamic he is in terms of the way he’s able to create offense. He’s got a big-time shot and mixed up his release points well throughout the weekend.
