One of the most highly touted 2028 offensive prospects in the Delaware Valley lived up to the hype on Saturday versus elite competition. Against Chaminade, Strohmeier showcased his well-rounded stick skills, separation speed, and field vision, recording three goals and an assist. Two of Strohmeier’s goals were impressive plays where he got downhill, dipped underneath his defender, and then charged to the net for a score. On the first goal, he came flying out of the box. On the second score, Strohmeier initiated from the wing. Strohmeier completed the hat trick when he got down the right alley and then cranked a shot past the goalie while running full speed.

In 2025, Strohmeier notched 16 goals and was a solid rotational piece for a Salesianum squad that won the Delaware state championship. Graduation hit that Salesianum roster hard, and this spring, Strohmeier will be expected to carry a heavier scoring load. Good news, Strohmeier has the stick skills and lacrosse instincts to handle that promotion. Those assets, combined with Strohmeier’s quick burst make him impossible to defend 1v1. Once Strohmeier has cooked the initial defender, he can charge to the net for a goal in close or draw the slide and then feed a teammate. His deep bag of stick maneuvers enables Strohmeier to navigate his way through heavy traffic on his way to the cage. Strohmeier can also get downhill and then rip a shot into the back of the net from 14-18 yards out. This athletic and speedy midfielder has also demonstrated that he can hustle back and work as a solid defensive midfielder for extended periods. During the summer of 2025, Strohmeier was a member of the Team USA U17 squad.

‘Smooth operator’ is the term that comes to mind whenever I’ve watched Strohmeier. Far from an unknown commodity at this early stage, he has already made quite a name as an underclassman, having caught my eye during my brief time watching 2028’s at NILLY in late July. A gifted passer who is blessed with excellent vision and skills that are off-the-charts, he performs with tremendous poise and is never not making the right play. In addition to his ability as a dodger and facilitator out of the midfield, he also showed some grit when he absolutely flattened a kid on the ride in one of the more head-turning plays I saw all weekend.

Strohmeier has consistently separated himself from his 2028 peers with a blend of IQ, skill, and goal-scoring ability that makes him one of the most complete midfielders in his class. A true two-way presence, he’s more than capable of making plays on the defensive end and then pushing transition to create offense. This summer, Strohmeier’s offensive game took another step forward. He showed confidence using both hands to generate scoring opportunities and impressed with his ability to evade sliding defenders and finish under pressure. It will be worth watching how his game translates with Team USA this weekend and later at Salesianum, where he’s expected to get more playing time after making varsity as a freshman.
