Trombley is a 6’3”, 200-pound multi-sport athlete who recently committed to Lafayette after initially deciding on Air Force. On the lacrosse field, Trombley is an agile pole with elite skills and a highly decorated resume. The Lafayette coaching staff will love Trombley’s ability to vacuum up ground balls in traffic or the open field and then swiftly push the ball in the transition game. Of course, Trombley is also a top-tier on-ball defender at LSM or close. His agility, speed, and active stick enable him to harass ball carriers all over the field and cause turnovers. With his long wingspan and solid frame, Trombley presents serious matchup issues for opposing attackmen and midfielders. As a bonus to all of these assets, Trombley can operate as a legitimate, long-stick face-off specialist.

Originally an All-League ’25 at Horace Greeley (N.Y.), Trombley has a ton of raw upside. He showed off his athleticism and potential while earning a coveted All-Star nod at Showtime, then excelled throughout the summer circuit with Taft and Express North, demonstrating that he’s got a lot of pieces to work with. There are some areas that he could stand to touch up (most players that age need to), but he showed so many flashes this summer that make him an intriguing prospect on the defensive side of the ball. He’s tough when he gets his hands on attackmen, sliding hard and sometimes even putting guys on their backs on a handful of occasions. I’m looking forward to seeing how he develops with more time in Taft’s program since he’s only been in the program for a year.
