Any questions about how he’d handle the jump in competition have been answered quickly and emphatically. In his most recent outing, he poured in five goals in the Rhinos’ one-goal loss to Brunswick. Two-handed and dynamic, he’s got burst and superb body control, artfully dodging from X with confidence and poise. Take a less-than-stellar approach against him, and the ball is winding up in the back of the net more often than not. He’s got excellent hands and a snappy release, shooting the ball from the wing at a high clip, and racking up points in transition as a reliable target at the back end of odd-man situations. Taft has a strong reputation for attracting and developing top-flight attack recruits, and Gashi looks to be next in line.

Ranked 26th in New York for assists and Top 3 in Section 1 while at Horace Greeley (N.Y.), Gashi is an offensive weapon who can be counted on for consistency, strong field vision, and great playmaking skills. Simply put, he’s not just a scorer. Known for creating scoring opportunities, Gashi has a knack for finding open teammates. He is an unselfish player, capable of putting up big numbers, having averaged 1.9 goals per game before transferring to Taft. Calm and calculated, his approach is outstanding. He’ll adjust his game accordingly, adding to his appeal.

In the New York Class B Regional Finals, Gashi contributed 1 goal and 1 assist, earning his points during a brief Greeley run in the second half. As a versatile offensive player, he showed strong positioning sense and efficiency near the crease. His multi-positional skill set and physical-to-stick presence fit the profile of a late-game rotational talent.
