Morsell was extremely impressive again on Tuesday as he poured in five goals and dished out an assist. His elite shooting skills, speed, and elusive stick maneuvers were on full display in this win. Morsell scored on the run, via long-distance snipes and by finishing in close on a fast break opportunity. His goal right before the end of the 2nd quarter was simply insane. With just seconds remaining in the first half, Morsell initiated from X, shook his initial defender, charged up the right side and as he crossed GLE, Morsell slipped a low backhanded shot past EA’s goalie. The field awareness and offensive instincts Morsell demonstrated in Haverford’s victory were next level.

Morsell recently posted back-to-back games in which he scored five goals. As a result, Loyola’s defense was focused on stopping Morsell via early slides and a few double teams. Morsell countered that scheme by quarterbacking Haverford’s offense all game. He smartly moved the ball to teammates being defended by short sticks, directed set plays, and dropped two impressive dimes. Morsell displayed incredible field vision on both of his assists. The Notre Dame commit also scored a goal via a fantastic individual effort. On that score, Morsell patiently possessed the ball at X where he threw a pass fake that turned a few heads. Morsell then dashed around the cage, executed a shot fake as he crossed GLE, and finished by slipping a lefty shot over the shoulder of the Loyola goalie.

Morsell is committed to Notre Dame, and after his outstanding performances this past week against two of Maryland’s traditional powerhouse programs, it is easy to see why the Fighting Irish extended an offer. Morsell got things started by recording 5 goals to go along with two assists in the Fords’ victory over McDonough (MD). In that win, Morsell scored an impressive goal: he executed a stutter-step move on the right wing, dipped under his defender, charged to the net, and finished with a sneaky lefty overhand shot just inside the near post. In Haverford’s 7-6 loss to Bullis, Morsell was again an offensive force as he tallied another five goals. That scoring spree was highlighted by a goal in which Morsell initiated from X, separated from his defender as he turned the corner, spun off a body check from a sliding pole, and then deposited a low-to-high shot into the net.

Morsell was highlighted in-depth as recently as last week in my post on the top QBs I’ve evaluated so far this season, but he’s beyond deserving of being spotlighted again after putting up three goals and two assists on Tuesday. Getting up the hash and finishing a feed from

On track to be a five-star recruit, Morsell had a fantastic freshman season, posting 29 goals and 23 assists while playing beyond his years. A tall lefty, he has an advanced field sense and has been up to the challenge at every turn. As slides have started to come earlier, he’s answered the bell. Morsell is deceptively fast and moves with fluidity, getting up the hash with regularity and shooting a hard, accurate ball. He’s a high percentage shooter from mid-range and reliable as an interior finisher, and no matter what defenses throw at him, Morsell has been able to adapt his game and find a way to rack up points while making the guys around him better.

This slick left-hander was a starter for a Fords squad that won the 2024 Inter-Ac title and spent several weeks as the No. 2 ranked team in the country. During his freshman campaign, he posted 29 goals and 23 assists. Morsell is an agile and speedy prospect with a tremendous feel for the game. Thus, most of his scoring and distributing damage is done on the run. On possessions where Morsell settles into an open space on the perimeter, he is an extraordinarily accurate shooter who can find the back of the net from multiple angles. In 2024 Morsell proved that he is willing to mix it up in the crease area too. Morsell’s polished and well-rounded skill set is beyond his years.

Highlighted on this site last week as part of a feature on ’27 attackmen on varsity, this wiry left-hander has tremendous instincts for the game. Morsell is a crafty passer who is especially effective at distributing while he is on the move. Morsell dished out two assists in the win over Malvern Prep. Morsell’s well-timed off-ball movement is another asset this freshman possesses. Against MP, that skill enabled him to slide from wing to the GLE at just the right moment for a beautiful catch-and-shoot goal on the doorstep. Morsell is also a highly accurate shooter who can score from multiple angles. His separation speed is an underrated part of his game.

Given the fact that the Fords returned three of their top four attackmen from a year ago (plus several more veterans on offense), I was caught off-guard to see a freshman out there in Haverford’s biggest non-conference tilts. At 6’0, there’s no doubt that Morsell looks the part. Watching him on live streams, the lefty possesses soft hands, active feet, a strong understanding of spacing, and a knack for setting great picks. Against Taft, I marked him down as forcing the Rhinos into two failed clears, including an interception. I’m already a big fan of the way this kid plays the game, and while his numbers won’t wow you, he’s got big-time ability for a program known for producing top-flight offensive recruits.
