The 2026 Hill School team was stacked with committed DI prospects. Flying under the radar on that loaded Hill roster was this talented, athletic, and high-IQ shortstick prospect. So, when Pagano recently gave his verbal commitment to St. John’s, it meant that the Red Storm had quietly landed a stud defensive presence. Pagano is an agile and fleet-footed SSDM who also owns smooth lateral footwork. That trifecta of assets combined with Pagano’s hyper-aggressive style makes him a suffocating on-ball defender. Pagano also will not hesitate to dish out some physical punishment in order to keep an opponent in front of him. Once Pagano has caused a turnover, his GB skills and speed allow him to scoop and go. Pagano’s polished stick skills and smart decision-making on the fast break should make him popular with the St. John’s staff. In settled action, Pagano owns the quick burst and cutback moves needed to initiate from anywhere on the field.
