While it may have been a struggle for the Fords on Sunday, Brody Murphy Brody Murphy 5'8" | G | Right Hand The Haverford School | 2024 PA served as one of the true bright spots. Facing a barrage of shots on net all day from Malvern, Murphy at times single-handedly kept Haverford in the game. Whether it was shots from outside or an inside cutter, Murphy was able to make stops. To go along with a solid frame is his ability to stay calm and track shots high or low. Facing an aggressive Malvern 10-man ride, Murphy was able to efficiently find outlets and help get the ball up the field. Heading south to Richmond this fall, he is a great pickup for a Spider program looking to make a push back into the NCAA Tournament.

I have a hard time thinking of another prospect in the Class of 2024 who has skyrocketed up my board more than Murphy has over the last two years. While several Haverford 3-stars have had huge years, his rise has perhaps been the most meteoric. A little-known sleeper until he took over starting duties for the Fords last year, Murphy has been one of the more dominant keepers in the country and has routinely stood out in his head for Haverford, including an 18-save performance in last week’s thrilling win over archrival Malvern Prep. With elite hand speed and clutch ability, he moves impeccably well from pipe to pipe and frequently robs would-be scoring opportunities in crucial moments. What a pickup for Dan Chemotti and the Spiders.
