5-Star ’28s: O’Neil, Tyler, Hristoforatos Headline Top 100 (FREE)

With the Sept. 9 contact date just one week away, Tabor Academy (Mass.) and 3d New England attackman has been named Prep Lacrosse's No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2028. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound lefty isn't just a high Division I linebacker recruit with offers from Michigan, UNC, Duke and Boston College heading into his junior year — he's also the youngest player in the rankings, having turned 16 during the final week of Tabor's regular season.

O'Neil, who played through lower body injuries for much of the summer, came into June with an unbelievable resumé, having been named the ISL Player of the Year after posting a ridiculous stat line of 62 goals and 57 assists in 19 games.

"He's just different in that he's a Power 4 linebacker playing lacrosse — he's Will Yeatman with Chad Palumbo's skill set," said one Division I coach. "He can operate in multiple areas of the field. He's a plug-and-play guy who is the centerpiece as soon as he gets somewhere."
