Intriguing Pennsylvania Commitments From July

Below is a review of five talented prospects fr0m Pennsylvania who committed to play for a college lacrosse program here in July.      Banks recently flipped his commitment from St. John Fisher (D3) to St. Bonaventure of the Atlantic 10 Conference. That late move means the Bonnies have added a lefty midfielder with imposing size, an explosive burst, and polished stick skills to their 2026 class. During his senior campaign at Penn Charter, Banks scored 45 goals and dished out 30 assists. Banks is a versatile midfielder who can bully defenders until he gets to his spots for a shot/pass, or blow past the initial defender with his explosive first step, then crank or distribute while on the run. With his long strides, Banks glides up and down the field. Therefore, he thrives in transition. The Bonnies' coaching staff will love his high IQ decision-making on the fast break. The athletic and gritty Banks can hustle back and operate at SSDM, too.     Earlier this year, I humbly advised college coaches to stop sleeping on Halpert. Well, at least one program woke up, as Halpert recently gave his verbal commitment to Trinity. Halpert is an athletic and agile, two-way pole who was a vital part of Haverford School's run to the 2026 PAISAA state title game. The combination of Halpert's size, speed, footwork, and a nonstop motor enables him to play as an LSM or a close defender. That list of assets also allows Halpert to play a finesse or physical style of pole. When he is in finesse mode, Halpert will pursue ball carriers for extended periods and then force turnovers with slaps, lifts, pokes, and can openers. When he plays with a physical edge, Halpert can put the ball on the ground by getting into ball carriers early in their dodges or via powerful shoulder checks on his slides. At LSM, close defense, and on the face-off wing, Halpert is a groundball machine who can scoop and go. The new Trinity coaching staff will love Halpert's transition skills, too.     Earlier in the week, this ridiculously talented and highly decorated net minder committed to Swarthmore College. This past season, Naholnik won 17 games and was named the NEPA Goalie of the Year as well as 1st Team WVC All-Conference selection for the year in a row. Naholnik's fast hands and active stick, combined with his tracking skills, enable him to make clean saves on perimeter shots. His size, patience, and willingness to use any part of his body allow Naholnik to stone shots at close range. Despite his imposing frame, Naholnik has repeatedly displayed that he owns the athleticism and speed to pounce on loose balls and hustle for chases. Once the ball is in his stick, Naholnik's smartly placed clearing passes often produce transition scoring chances for his team.     Schreiner is an athletic, aggressive, and high-IQ pole who just committed to Division III powerhouse Gettysburg College. One item that pops immediately about Schreiner's game is his anticipation skills. He frequently gets to opponents right as they receive the ball and then relentlessly harasses their hands. In fact, Schreiner frequently arrives at the same time as the ball and prevents his man from hauling in the pass. If his opponent if fortunate enough to possess the ball, Schreiner will use pokes, lifts, or trail checks to put the ball on the turf. Schreiner's quick reactions and aggressive stick enable him to vacuum up ground balls. His underrated speed and elusive stick maneuvers enable Schreiner to push the ball upfield. The Gettysburg staff will really like Schreiner's high IQ and field awareness.     This elite lefty attackman was previously committed to Hofstra. But Trymbiski assembled an epic senior campaign during which he posted 59 goals to go along with 21 assists, was named the POY in the Philadelphia Catholic League, and led La Salle to the 3A state title. Trymbiski's incredible play during the 2026 season eventually produced an offer from Virginia, and last week, he decided to make the switch. This 2026 prospect is an elite catch-and-fire prospect. The trifecta of Trymbiski's quick release, accuracy, and creative shot placement makes him a lethal threat from GLE as well as the wing. Trymbiski is also a master at creating scoring chances via nifty off-ball movements. His well-timed sweeps, cuts, and drifts frequently produce dunk opportunities around the crease. Trymbiski also owns enough shake to cook his initial defender and then score on the move.
