Expert Analysis
Kyle Devitte | Prep Lacrosse Scout
A five-tool defender who can play any spot in settled sets, Shaw has a diverse and valuable skill set. One of the best things about him is how capable he is of disrupting ball carriers. Long stick, short stick – it doesn’t matter; Shaw is a guy who lets you know who and where he is at all times. On-ball, he is technically sound, and off-ball, he slides to destroy. It’s not a step too far to call him an enforcer, but enforcers are valuable to teams that need to add toughness to their roster. When Shaw carries the ball, he invites contact, often resulting in players bouncing off of him in increasingly hilarious ways. More than one overzealous riding attackman tasted turf trying to lay a hit on Shaw this past summer.
