Delaware Valley Under-the-Radar Prospects to Scout in November

Fall ball action is in full swing and Halloween weekend will be another busy two-day stretch filled with marquee recruiting events taking place all over the country. With that in mind, below are profiles of five talented prospects from the Delaware Valley who I believe are flying under the radar. I would humbly suggest that college coaches take the time to scout the following players during the final month of fall lacrosse. With his fundamentally sound technique, elite tracking skills and fast hands, Chorlton is impossible to score on from long range. Chorlton's noteworthy size, agility, and willingness to use any part of his body enables him to deny shots from close in too. Still, the most impressive part of Chorlton's skill set may be his ability to stand on his head for a stretch and save a hailstorm of shots. Chorlton's poise, athleticism, quick reflexes, and ability to scramble back into position are the keys to his success during these high-pressure onslaughts. Chorlton also will not hesitate to leave the crease to pounce on rebounds or loose balls in those chaotic situations. Once Chorlton has possession of the rock, he consistently delivers smart as well as precise clearing passes. College coaches will also be impressed with communication skills. How this long and athletic pole with a well-rounded skill set remains available is a complete mystery. Last spring, Holzhauer was an absolute ball hawk who caused 48 turnovers and vacuumed up 51 ground balls. Those impressive stats garnered Holzhauer 1st Team All-Suburban One League honors. Out on the perimeter Holzhauer is a rangy defender with speed and a lively stick. That trifecta allows Holzhauer to provide suffocating on-ball defense. Holzhauer's deep bag of stick checks frequently puts the ball on the ground. In close, Holzhauer uses his smooth lateral footwork and physicality to shut down dodgers from GLE and X. The combination of Holzhauer's lengthy wingspan and anticipation skills allow him to intercept or deflect passes. With his scoop and go skills, Holzhauer is a plus player in the clearing / transition game too. College coaches should scout this athletic, skilled, and fleet footed defensive prospect immediately. One aspect of Morris's game that pops right away is his ability to secure a GB or receive an outlet pass and then clear the ball himself. Morris owns impressive separation speed, and enough change of direction moves to weave his way through the opposing team and carry the ball over midfield. If the opportunity presents itself, Morris will charge below the restraining line a drop a dime on an open teammate. Back at the defensive end, Morris is a technically sound pole with polished footwork and an aggressive stick. This lefty is an expert at arriving early to a ball carrier and then delivering crafty lifts, pokes and can openers that generate turnovers. Additionally, Morris is high IQ team defender whose slides and double teams are always on time. Off-ball, Morris has also demonstrated fantastic instincts for when to leave his man and deliver a timely trail check to the ball carrier.         Murray is an athletic and shifty offensive prospect with a refined, two-handed skill set. He excels at coming out the box, receiving an outlet pass and then charging into the offensive end to create an unsettled scoring chance. With his speed and slick stick maneuvers, Murray can carry the ball deep below the retaining line for goals or assists. In 6v6 action, Murray can explode down the alley in a flash and then rip a shot into the net while going full speed. Murray also can dodge from up top or the wing and patiently carry the ball until he can find an open teammate and then deliver a creative dime. Additionally, this versatile 2028 has proven that he can initiate from the X or the wing attack positions. Murray's quick release and pinpoint accuracy make him a threat to snipe from the perimeter too. He is especially effective as a shooter in screen and pop action. Murray's high IQ and relentless motor makes him a plus player n the ride.           During his remarkable freshman campaign, Schultes posted 28 goals to go along with 11 assists as helped push Paul VI to the second round of the NJSIAA state tournament. Last spring, Schultes recorded a season-high five points in four different games. Schultes is a quick twitch prospect with filthy stick skills who can generate offense from anywhere in the zone. However, Schultes is especially effective when he operates in the low attack spot or at X.  Down low, Schultes can use his swift release and precise aim to score via catch and fire plays at GLE. He also is master at executing timely off-ball movements that create high percentage scoring chances on the back post. Plus, Schultes is an excellent crease finisher on the fast break. From X, Schultes can use his change of direction moves and tricky stick maneuvers to shake his initial defender and then streak around the corner for a goal around the crease. Schultes has also demonstrated that he can sweep from X to the front of the cage for catch and dunk scoring chances.
