Expert Analysis
Eric Bretz | Prep Lacrosse Scout
With the versatility to play the wing and close D, Stopa can affect the game in a variety of ways. On the wing, he is patient and waits for the ball to pop out to space and then explodes through the pile to start the fast break with long strides and confidence handling the ball. The Wharton (N.J.) native uses his agility to match feet with his opponents and plays a fast and physical style of lacrosse that is exciting to watch. He refrains from throwing unnecessary checks, staying in good position, but can body his matchup when in tight or forcing them down the alley for a tough shot. Off a save, he displays awareness as a reliable outlet for his goalie and doesn’t put the ball in many turnover scenarios. With continued offseason development and working against top-tier opponents at showcases like Maverik Showtime, Stopa will want to carry that momentum into the spring and hopefully earn himself significant playing time for Don Bosco Prep.
