About Rocco
Expert Analysis
Eric Bretz | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Scialla was an exciting player to watch with his toughness and hustle all around the field and impacting the game in multiple ways for his team. Right off the jump in his game vs. 3D Garden State, he caused a turnover with good positional and aggressive defense and took the ball coast-to-coast for a goal to give his team an early lead. His speed and agility as a short-stick midfielder was on full display, forcing matchups to pass it off with aggressive play and good stick checks. He has an athletic breakdown at the point of contact with a strong lower body and good footwork to match his opponent’s speed. He is confident while handling the rock as well and has great stamina to stay on the field as a two-way midfielder.

Rocco Scialla is a hard-nosed, high-motor midfielder who plays with a relentless edge and impacts the game in all three phases. On the wings, he’s a ground ball machine, explosive, aggressive, and never afraid to get into the mix. Defensively, Rocco thrives as a short-stick defensive midfielder, using his physicality and quick feet to lock down opponents and force turnovers. In transition, he’s poised and smart, consistently creating opportunities for himself and his teammates with his awareness and decision-making. And when he gets his hands free, Rocco can let it fly, bringing a heavy, accurate shot that keeps defenses honest.
