Loomis Chaffee (Conn.) captured its third straight Founders League title on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Choate 10-5 in front of a raucous crowd at Pratt Field.

Early on, the matchup looked destined to become a dogfight, as Choate carried a 3-2 lead into the second quarter. But Loomis responded with a dominant 5-0 run that stretched deep into the third, taking control at the faceoff X, tightening up defensively, and making key plays in transition. The Pelicans shut the door from there, winning the third quarter 5-1 before adding two more goals in the fourth to pull away.

As always, the Founders League final stage was packed with high-end talent. Here's a closer look at six players who popped on film:

Bound to be among the most coveted players in the class, there's been plenty of press about Ika, in part because he's thrived with 2027's on the club circuit. While plenty familiar with all that he brings to the table, I'm constantly impressed by just how steady he is — you know what you're getting from Ika every time he's out there. He posted two goals and an assist, but it felt like it was even more, and his mere presence alone opened up a lot of opportunities for his teammates. Ika got Loomis on the board first with a hammer of a shot from the lefty wing, netted a jumper to put Loomis up 4-3 near the half when the defense lost him, then tossed an assist to Loyola-bound PG Griffin Boston in the third quarter. He's effective in everything he does, and what I love is that he can be moved around to a variety of spots on the field and produce at a high level. He's smooth, dynamic, tough as nails, and makes the right decision every time.

A staple in the Pelicans' lineup since he blew up as a freshman, Conway-Reppert finished his high school career in style with a championship and nine points in his final two games. After posting six assists in the Founders League semis against Taft, he put up 1g/2a while orchestrating the Loomis offense. He's always been a gifted facilitator, but on Wednesday afternoon, I was incredibly impressed with his vision and ability to thread the needle with passes right on his teammates' sticks. While he had a pair of helpers, he certainly could have had several more if his teammates had finished more of his looks. He scored a goal that helped Loomis put the game away early in the fourth quarter, finding the offside low corner on a set play. He had some big groundballs, and put the work in on the ride, too.

From where I sit, he's raised his stock this spring. If Milki can stay healthy and adjust to the physicality of the college game, expect him to be a multi-year contributor for the Big Green and compete for significant PT as soon as he arrives on campus.

Long viewed as one of the premier SSDMs in the Class of 2026, Wable left everything on the field in the final game of his prep career. He made a consistent impact throughout, winning matchups and displaying the relentless tenacity that has become a hallmark of his game. Wable came up with several impressive ground balls in traffic and forced turnovers against some of the Pelicans' top offensive threats. Late in the first quarter, he delivered a standout individual effort near midfield that ultimately led to a goal. After scooping up a tough groundball and briefly slipping, Wable regained his footing, split two defenders, and powered his way to the cage for a momentum-shifting goal for the Wild Boars.

His compete level is off the charts, and he plays at full speed at all times. However, he'll need to continue channeling that intensity, as his competitiveness can occasionally lead to frustration penalties, as it did Wednesday after the game began to slip away from Choate. The transition from high school to the ACC is never easy at the SSDM position, but Wable has the talent to make that leap, and the Tar Heels will be looking to retool their SSDM unit in 2027.

King brings an aggressive, high-energy style to the goaltender position that allows him to tilt the field for his team. On WKing brings an aggressive, high-energy presence to the goaltender position that consistently shifts momentum in his team's favor. On Wednesday, he looked completely dialed in, tracking everything thrown his way. He was exceptional down low and turned offside high shots into popcorn. As impressive as he was inside the crease, what truly separates King is his impact outside of it. He's remarkably poised with the ball, turning big saves into quick, accurate outlet passes that spark transition opportunities. When the moment calls for it, he'll push the pace himself — carrying upfield, crossing midfield, and even looking to score. He consistently wins run-outs for possession and isn't afraid to play physically when needed, drawing a flag on one occasion after laying a kid out. Only allowing four goals, I had him down for nine (!!!) second half saves after making four in the opening 24 minutes, though he may have had another one or two that I missed. Denver already boasts an All-American in net, and while King's arrival will overlap with Grayson Manning's senior season, the Pioneers appear exceptionally well-positioned in goal for years to come.

Back in January, we highlighted Boorda as a young playmaker worth knowing, and this spring, he seized a role at SSDM and looked the part. That was especially true on Wednesday, when he thrived between the lines and contributed a pair of goals. Also a talented football player, Boorda's speed is eye-popping and creates countless opportunities in transition. He got on the board early in the third quarter, burying a shot from 10 yards out, then struck again in the fourth after a huge save by King in tight. Taking a clearing pass just above the restraining line, he exploded upfield, sold a quick fake to his teammate, and finished the play with four minutes remaining. He nearly added another earlier in the game after making a sharp interception by anticipating a clearing pass from Choate, but missed the empty net by the slimmest margin. Boorda is an incredibly fun player to watch, and there's little doubt he'll become a highly sought-after SSDM recruit when the time comes.

A big, imposing offensive weapon, the Washington State native asserted himself nicely to close out his sophomore season, posting two goals in the first quarter alone. He got on the board early as part of the Wild Boars' EMO unit, taking a pass from [player_tooltip player_id='74280' first='Bryce' last='Privateer'], turning and firing. His best play of the game would come shortly thereafter, when he initiated a dodge from behind, put his shoulder down, and snuck in a jumper from the hash over the goalie's shoulder. The talented lefty knows how to use his size to his advantage, knows how to get open, and is armed with a beauty of a shot that will take him places.
