On Saturday, Salisbury School made the quick trip north to Sheffield (Mass.) to take on Berkshire. All eyes were centered on Berkshire's junior attackman [player_tooltip player_id='16428' first='James' last='Holbrough']— the No. 2 recruit in the 2027 class—and how Salisbury's defense would handle him. Holbrough's ability to throw his teammates open was on full display in the first half, as he dished out five assists, many coming off no-look passes and slick feeds through traffic.

Despite Holbrough's early production, Salisbury's senior defender/LSM [player_tooltip player_id='17234' first='Jackson' last='Allen'] battled well in the matchup and helped lead a defensive unit that got it together after halftime. Even without Princeton commit [player_tooltip player_id='45432' first='Caden' last='Creech'], the Crimson Knights held Berkshire scoreless in the third quarter behind strong play from defenders [player_tooltip player_id='175986' first='Devin' last='Maguire'], [player_tooltip player_id='20318' first='Joe' last='Florada'], Ty Moynahan, and JT Macaluso, along with an eight-save performance from goalie [player_tooltip player_id='143392' first='Conor' last='Reynolds']. At the faceoff X, [player_tooltip player_id='45381' first='Connor' last='Wambach'] gave Salisbury consistent possession, going 15-for-25 while contributing on the offensive end as well.

For Berkshire, sophomore faceoff specialist Xavier Rivera showed promise despite the tough matchup, and goalie Russell Soja, who ended with 13 saves

Let's take a look at five standouts in Salisbury's 14-10 win over Berkshire"

Brown commit [player_tooltip player_id='17474' first='Tyler' last='Ramirez'] put together a well-rounded performance against Berkshire, stacking the stat sheet with four goals and three assists. Over the course of his seven points, Ramirez showcased a little bit of everything—IQ, vision, dodging, and finishing.

In transition, he was a constant threat, putting up two goals and an assist. As the point man, he buried a clean step-down shot and later moved to open a passing lane before dishing a feed to [player_tooltip player_id='172904' first='Keegan' last='Luey'] on the back pipe. In settled offense, Ramirez added both a goal and an assist while attacking short-stick matchups. His second-quarter goal came off a sharp dodge up the hashes, blowing past his defender for a high-quality finish. Later, he found Luey when his defender showed slightly towards Ramirez, delivering a clean mirror-feed for an easy conversion.

Ramirez also struck first for Salisbury, opening the game with an off-ball goal—he slipped backside, caught and released in one motion to beat the moving goalie. His final assist came on the extra-man unit; he received credit when a skip pass made its way to [player_tooltip player_id='45381' first='Connor' last='Wambach'] and trickled into the cage. All told, Ramirez displayed a well-rounded offensive profile that reflects his readiness for Division I play.

It's remarkable how much of an impact freshman attackman [player_tooltip player_id='172904' first='Keegan' last='Luey'] is already making at a powerhouse program like Salisbury. He is skilled beyond his years in every phase of his game, especially when you look at his tape vs players in his class. What stands out most in Luey's game are his hands, advanced off-ball IQ, quick decision-making, and elite finishing ability.

Luey erupted for five goals and an assist in Salisbury's win over Berkshire, consistently finding dangerous areas and capitalizing on his opportunities. His first goal came when his defender slid off the crease, and Luey smartly slipped behind him, settling into the pocket where the second slide couldn't reach. He turned and fired to the high post, beating the goalie who guessed low. His next two goals came in transition, showcasing his awareness to find the back pipe for easy finishes. On one, he finished with a clean one-timer; on the other, he finished creatively with a smooth behind-the-back goal. His fourth tally was the product of timing his cuts—Luey cut perfectly as the ball moved behind to [player_tooltip player_id='16975' first='James' last='Whitehorse'], who fed him inside for another quick one-timer that left the goalie with no chance. His fifth and final goal came when he mirrored the dodger with minimal separation, yet created just enough space for a catch-and-finish sequence.

Beyond his scoring, Luey contributed an assist on the extra-man unit, following low near the goal line and one-timing a feed up top to [player_tooltip player_id='128955' first='Garrett' last='Sullivan'] for a step-down finish. When he has the off-ball IQ, quick decision making, and quick finishes, it is extremely hard to even touch him before he makes a play.

Postgraduate defenseman [player_tooltip player_id='175986' first='Devin' last='Maguire'], formerly of St. Sebastian's, looked strong on the ball in Salisbury's win over Berkshire. The Army commit is a big, tall, strong, and physical defensive man who makes his presence felt on the ball and as a slider. In the first quarter, he laid a clean hit that helped set the tone for future dodgers. The dodger went down the alley and barely got the shot off before being put on his back by the sliding Maguire. On the ball, he leans into his physicality, using strong crosschecks and heavy hands to keep opponents uncomfortable. He's a bully who makes up ground by getting into you.

When ball carriers are in vulnerable positions, he comes with heavy hands, as he did in the third quarter when he forced a turnover on his matchup and again in the fourth when he forced a turnover on the man-down unit. While there were minor lapses off-ball, his overall physical presence, vocal leadership, and reliability in the clearing game stood out.

[player_tooltip player_id='175982' first='Eli' last='Boren'], one of the lefty attackmen for Berkshire, showcased his dynamic skill set and creativity with a four-goal performance against Salisbury. He opened the scoring less than a minute into the game, reading the defense perfectly as the mirror when [player_tooltip player_id='16428' first='James' last='Holbrough'] dodged from X. Boren timed his cut, catching the feed in one motion and fired a behind-the-back finish to the far side—an early highlight worthy of a replay.

Boren added three more goals in the fourth quarter, each displaying a different layer of his offensive versatility. With just over nine minutes remaining, he handled a contested pass as the point man in transition and buried a low-release shot through traffic. A few minutes later on the extra-man unit, he found an open passing lane on the back pipe, caught a skip pass, faked near side, and absorbed contact before diving across the crease to score high and away. His final tally came at the buzzer—after his initial shot was denied five-hole, he collected his own rebound near the goal line and, in one motion, stretched out with one hand to finish low and away. If the game situation had been closer, that effort might've gone viral.

While Berkshire's offense leans heavily on its senior leadership, sophomore attackman [player_tooltip player_id='175984' first='Nick' last='Hansen'] has already carved out a major role—and looks every bit a college prospect. The West Coast native stands at an impressive 6'4” but moves with impressive fluidity for his size. Hansen pairs his physical presence with polished skill, showing an explosive first step and an elite scoring touch. He can shoot on the run, with his feet set, and from either hand, all with a natural slickness that usually takes years to develop.

Despite drawing a pole matchup against Salisbury, Hansen still found the back of the net twice. His first goal came less than two minutes into the game, putting Berkshire up 2–0. Operating on the crease as Berkshire initiated from up top, Ridgely Dunne fed him inside, and Hansen turned in one motion to bury a high bouncer while the goalie stayed low. His second goal came right before halftime on an athletic and eye-catching play—after [player_tooltip player_id='16428' first='James' last='Holbrough'] received a razor pick to free his hands, he slipped a subtle no-look skip pass to Hansen on the back pipe. Hansen elevated, caught the feed right-handed in a twister position, and bounced it home for a highlight-worthy finish.
