is already making at a powerhouse program like Salisbury. He is skilled beyond his years in every phase of his game, especially when you look at his tape vs players in his class. What stands out most in Luey’s game are his hands, advanced off-ball IQ, quick decision-making, and elite finishing ability.
Luey erupted for five goals and an assist in Salisbury’s win over Berkshire, consistently finding dangerous areas and capitalizing on his opportunities. His first goal came when his defender slid off the crease, and Luey smartly slipped behind him, settling into the pocket where the second slide couldn’t reach. He turned and fired to the high post, beating the goalie who guessed low. His next two goals came in transition, showcasing his awareness to find the back pipe for easy finishes. On one, he finished with a clean one-timer; on the other, he finished creatively with a smooth behind-the-back goal. His fourth tally was the product of timing his cuts—Luey cut perfectly as the ball moved behind to

Beyond his scoring, Luey contributed an assist on the extra-man unit, following low near the goal line and one-timing a feed up top to

Named Offensive MVP at The Spotlight (the top 2029 showcase), Luey is a name that I’ve been hearing rave reviews about for a few months now. Coming up the ranks playing box for St. Catherines in Ontario, he’s got a tantalizing skill set hallmarked by silky mitts and a constant willingness to take risks. He’s not the type of Canadian who came to prep school with minimal experience playing field lacrosse, however, and he’s far more than just a finisher, looking off teammates and throwing nasty skip passes from distance. His highlights showcase a player who loves executing filthy toe drags and obscene around-the-worlds, making goalies move with ease. His style of play and flashiness keep everyone around him on their toes, and I’m really excited to witness him light up the New England prep school scene over the next four years, especially as he commits himself to the weight room.
