On Wednesday, Brunswick (Conn.) traveled to Morristown to take on Delbarton (N.J.) in a clash between two nationally ranked programs. The Bruins' offense was firing, led by top senior [player_tooltip player_id='16386' first='Lucas' last='Garcia'], who tallied three goals and three assists. He had plenty of help from a talented sophomore group — [player_tooltip player_id='124043' first='Austin' last='Tuttle'] (2g/1a), [player_tooltip player_id='124045' first='Sawyer' last='Bligh'] (2g/1a), [player_tooltip player_id='125299' first='David' last='Giuriceo'] (2a), and [player_tooltip player_id='125418' first='Parker' last='Baras'] (1g) — all making key contributions.

Defensively, Brunswick was anchored by standout pole [player_tooltip player_id='20310' first='John' last='Buttafuoco'] and goalie [player_tooltip player_id='20887' first='Will' last='Connell'], who limited Delbarton's offense led by [player_tooltip player_id='121825' first='Brandon' last='Fodor'] (1g/1a). The Bruins controlled the game throughout, earning an impressive 11–6 win.

Here's a look at five players who stood out in Brunswick's early‑season statement victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='16386' first='Lucas' last='Garcia'] is one of the easiest players to evaluate because everything about his game stands out on the field. His speed is elite, his deception is constant, and his ability to manipulate defenses makes him look like a man among boys. All of that was on full display in Brunswick's win over Delbarton, during which he finished with three goals and three assists — and could have had a fourth goal if not for a questionable late call.

Two of his goals came in transition as the point man, stepping into shots and ripping missiles with his feet set. The third came on a pure display of speed, where he ran past a double team, crossed GLE, and dunked it home. His passing game is equally dangerous because defenses are forced to collapse whenever he dodges. His first assist came off a quick slide; his second in early offense after reading an unsettled defense; and his last when he hit the deep mirror out of a two‑man action — each a product of the attention he draws. Garcia's game is electric. His stickwork, vision, and burst make him a nightmare to guard, and his offensive toolkit feels endless. Simply put, Garcia is one of the best players in the country and looks ready to push for immediate minutes once he gets to the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='165401' first='Harrison' last='Hantman'], an uncommitted junior, didn't start in Brunswick's win over Delbarton but made the most of his opportunities. He saw plenty of action and handled matchups near the goal line with confidence. His footwork was crisp, he stayed on hands, and consistently dictated his matchup. Playing near GLE is never easy, but Hantman “closed the gate” and forced predictable inside rolls that allowed slides to collapse on time.

What really separates Hantman is his physical presence. He brings heavy hands in their slide package, ground balls, and during man-down situations, delivering clean, timely contact when needed. One of his best moments came as the two-slide, stepping in to lay a textbook hit after a crease feed. The fact that Hantman logged so many minutes says a lot—he's earning time over some talented defenders at Brunswick and holding his own against committed matchups.

[player_tooltip player_id='20887' first='Will' last='Connell'] turned in a strong performance in Brunswick's win over Delbarton on Wednesday, finishing with at least seven saves. He came up with stops from every level—high, low, and off‑stick—and the ones that got past him were tough finishes, whether dunks on the crease or well‑placed deceptive shots. One goal slid through on a tough bounce, but overall, Connell was steady and composed throughout.

What stands out most about Connell's game is his poise. He's calm in the cage and doesn't waste movement, staying compact in his low arc while letting his quick hands and reactions take over. When shooters project their hands, he explodes up top with cat‑like reflexes to close what looks like open space. While he gives up a few more rebounds than most, his pocket is dialed for the clearing game—his passes are crisp, on a line, and his eyes are always up for transition opportunities. Connell is listed as a 2026 on Brunswick's roster, but is open to being a 2027. That flexibility, combined with his talent and experience against elite competition, should have college coaches heavily interested.

[player_tooltip player_id='143636' first='Matthew' last='Good'] was one of the few bright spots for Delbarton in their matchup against Brunswick, finishing with two goals and an assist. His first came when he attacked a short-stick up the hashes, absorbed a hard cross-check, and still buried a bouncer while falling. Minutes later, after [player_tooltip player_id='121825' first='Brandon' last='Fodor'] dodged past two poor approaches, Good slipped to the crease and converted with a smooth lefty fake and finish. His assist came behind the cage, beating his short-stick matchup and finding Houser cutting through a seam for a composed finish.

Good's game is complete and deceptively efficient. He can dodge and redodge with pace and control, using hesitation and change of speed to keep defenders off balance. He's equally comfortable finishing and feeding with either hand, which makes him a tough individual matchup and a challenge to slide to. With Fodor drawing the pole this season, expect Good to continue driving Delbarton's offensive production as a primary initiator.

Though Houser isn't the biggest player on the field, his slickness more than compensates. One of his most impressive moments came when [player_tooltip player_id='143636' first='Matthew' last='Good'] drew a slide from GLE and found Houser sitting in a seam. Houser caught the pass, toe-dragged past a short stick, and buried a subtle leaner while taking a heavy hit that drew a flag. Later, he absorbed another big check that went uncalled but showcased his toughness. He nearly added another assist with a quick skip pass that was inches from connecting for a goal.

Houser's ability to generate offense is what makes him special. He's quick, agile, and comfortable using both hands, with an array of release points that keep goalies guessing. Combine that with his deception as both a dodger and finisher, and you've got a player who's tough to game-plan for. Houser's competitiveness and skill set should translate immediately at High Point — he's versatile enough to play anywhere in the offense and tough enough to handle the physicality of the college game.
