, an uncommitted junior, didn’t start in Brunswick’s win over Delbarton but made the most of his opportunities. He saw plenty of action and handled matchups near the goal line with confidence. His footwork was crisp, he stayed on hands, and consistently dictated his matchup. Playing near GLE is never easy, but Hantman “closed the gate” and forced predictable inside rolls that allowed slides to collapse on time.
What really separates Hantman is his physical presence. He brings heavy hands in their slide package, ground balls, and during man-down situations, delivering clean, timely contact when needed. One of his best moments came as the two-slide, stepping in to lay a textbook hit after a crease feed. The fact that Hantman logged so many minutes says a lot—he’s earning time over some talented defenders at Brunswick and holding his own against committed matchups.

Hold on to your stick — and definitely don’t leave it hanging — around Hantman. With excellent hands and a knack for ending possessions, he consistently jars the ball loose and piles up knockdowns and interceptions. Instinctive and active, Hantman plays defense like a free safety, anchoring his team’s off-ball defense while disrupting passing lanes. On-ball, he shows a sturdy base and discipline in his stance, making him tough to shake. Part of Brunswick’s talented youth movement, he impressed in his minutes for the Bruins and carried that momentum into the summer with strong showings at the NLF Elite 120 and with Eclipse. Recruiting defenders from ‘Wick tends to be a good strategy, and Hantman has the talent to be the one of the next ones off the board.
