Early in this game, Loyola was a mess on defense and the only thing kept the score from getting out of control was the stellar play of Powell. On several Haverford possessions during the first half, Powell turned away a barrage of quality shots. Additionally, Powell did not allow a goal in the 3rd quarter, which was a major reason Loyola was able to claw its way back into this game. This Maryland commit proved to be an extremely agile prospect with fast hands. His ability to stop shots that Haverford generated around the crease was remarkable.
