Opportunistic in the way he creates offense, Lally is a player whom I developed an appreciation for over the summer while playing for the Crabs. This spring, with Loyola having a sneaky amount of depth on the offensive end, he’s made the most of his playing time. During the Dons’ most recent win against St. Mary’s, he came off a pick on a long dodge and netted a bouncer, and scored in a similar fashion to get the scoring started for Loyola when I saw them against Georgetown Prep. Providing more substance than flair, he’s a strong shooter on the run who puts a ton behind it, plus he knows how to open up opportunities by working off-ball. In the past, I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Lally when he’s mixing it up between the lines and playing hard-nosed defense, too. Right now, he projects as a recruit who could wind up in one of the better conferences in Division III at an absolute minimum.

The midfielder from Loyola has showcased his skill set well on the summer circuit, proving to be a versatile piece at the midfield position. Offensively, he excels as an off-ball player and finisher, finding soft spots in the defense and getting shots off quickly. He’s also effective when dodging with a single move to create just enough separation to free his hands and fire. Between the lines, he plays with a high motor, scrapping for ground balls and competing hard on the defensive end. If he continues to add size and strength, his combination of effort, IQ, and scoring ability should attract plenty of attention from college coaches.
