Leading up to 9/1, one of the biggest knocks on the Class of 2026 was the lack of big, bruising offensive recruits. Meile is quite the exception, though he had been committed to the Midshipmen for three weeks since service academies get a two-month headstart on rising juniors. In terms of his size, the physical lefty looks like he'd already fit in at Navy, and he's got plenty of game, too. Meile, who recently transferred from Penncrest to SCH of the Inter-Ac, was particularly impressive in the first two games of the day, combining for five goals and an assist. A force of a downhill dodger, Meile can absolutely hammer the ball from the outside and is often working his way to the middle of the field for the best shot. In the past, I felt like his shot selection was iffy. That was not the case last weekend. Defenses started to respect him more as he had increased success and he still cashed in time after time.

Mackey is among several reasons why buying the proverbial stock in a fast-rising Good Counsel program might be smart. The Yale commit has combined for 115 points during his first two seasons on varsity and turned a lot of heads this summer, finishing strong at the tail-end of the summer circuit. He was back at it at Troy Park and impressed with his equal propensity for scoring and feeding, as Mackey looked to be one of the best passers at the event. What impresses me about Mackey is that he lets the game come to him and doesn't seem to force anything or pile up turnovers. Smooth and confident in his abilities, his head up is always up looking for cutters, and he's good for the occasional spot feed or two. He showed off his two-handedness and finished appropriately, placing his shots well throughout the day. I also love his effort in the riding game, where he was a constant factor.

If his showing at IDX served as any indication, Costa looks more than ready to step into a much larger role for a Gonzaga offense that graduated a handful of multi-year starters. At his best above the cage on the wing, he's one of the more feared left-handed shooters in the class and does a terrific job of changing planes, frequently unleashing shots from a deceptive low or three-quarters release. He's got the speed to separate up the hash or sweep across the top, along with ideal size and a high lacrosse IQ. Costa is one of the crown jewels of a rock-solid '26 class for Rutgers, a program that isn't traditionally a DMV pipeline, though the Scarlet Knights have dipped into the region a lot more as of late.

Hailing from Duchess County in New York, Sanders not only takes up a ton of net with his 6'0, 220-pound frame, but he moves exceptionally well for a goalie his size. He excels at playing angles and making shooters work hard to beat him, relying on his textbook fundamentals and hand speed. A positive and enthusiastic leader in cage, it's clear that he takes tremendous pride in the clearing game. After he made a stop, Sanders calmly and quickly got the ball to the appropriate man and tossed several long outlet passes on an absolute dime.

Helping make up a terrific class for Harvard (both defensively and overall), Shaw will bring some more grit to Cambridge. He's physical but doesn't get himself in trouble, making his presence felt by initiating contact on his approaches and staying on the hands. He's also got a really good stick and wasn't afraid to push transition when the opportunity presented himself. With great hips and sound footwork, Shaw moves impeccably well laterally and is able to effectively blanket a wide array of dodgers, both big and small. On top of his defensive skill set, I've also heard rave reviews about his character and coachability, both at the event and from those who have been around him on the summer circuit.

Holland is a bonafide steal for newly minted head coach John Crawley and his High Point Panthers. A lefty who has grown a few inches since the first time I saw him in January, Holland has shown that he's plenty capable of taking his man to the rack and making things happen with the ball in his stick. However, I think he's arguably more dangerous without the ball in his stick and could be lethal in college when paired with a quarterback type. There were multiple instances in which Holland made a superb cut that led to a goal, and he always finished appropriately and at a high clip.
